So..... doesn't seem like I am getting anywhere with Blizzard, and kinda getting sick of winning 67% of matches to at least not even get any points to place higher in my own stupid division, so I think I am gonna possibly start over on trial, and if it works better just stick with that one.
So anyways, was just curious what you guys think would be a good approach as a terran to go into the placement matches especially vs some of the higher divisions? Should I just go with something really easy like a mass marine so that I can focus on a simple macro with a few upgrades and just roll out and see how it goes? lol.
Any suggestions, or BO suggestions would be helpful so that I can maybe try not to overthink myself and attempt to keep up a bit =P
thx

a solid MMM will usually get u up to the Gold players. after that it really depends on what they go for. But be wary, often times, during placement matches it seems, players will cheese wit proxy (on lower lvl players anyway). so full scouts is very important and proper scout timing. The scv that builds the supply depot is usually the best time to scout. and when scouting in their base, if u can stay in their base longer, then do it. Only leave when ur scv is really at risk of dying. and a secondary scout with a hellion is often very helpful in determining what they are going for in terms of mid game so yea. might wana do that as well. unless u need the 100 mins for something else.
best of luck to ya! and hopefully they dont screw you on points on this acc

Thanks! Yeah, got cheese rushed by both my bronze opponents in placement before../ugh. I was figuring Id just go MMM and test my luck unless for some reason I did well, then when I got matched up to gold, Id be a little more creative..lol.
I had a question for you (or anyone) on a basic build like this. When is usually the best time to start upgrades? And besides getting a starport to push out some medics, at any point should I start pushing out extra factories/starports and additional items, or just stick to the MMM plan for the most part?
Ooh also, what is typically a good time to push out my army?
Thanks, and sorry I am such a noobzor I ask too many questions hahaha...

alright, when ur off of 1 base, u can usually support 2 rax, 1 factory, and a starport. tho ull be short on a couple mins n gas sometimes. what i usually do is 3 rax MM and then push with about 7 maruaders n 9 marines. Or whatever (if it looks decent) i have at about the 7-8 min mark. then at that time, i will expand and drop down my factory n starport after the factory finishes. also having scv production beefed up while the expansion is building so i can transfer them down to my expansion once its done.
concussive shell usually comes while that first maruder is coming out. and usually after that, i get stim. and by the time stim is building my second tech lab is usually done so i get combat shield. weapon/armor upgrades usually come after a got a couple of tanks/medivacs. I like getting wep +1 first since most units in MM are pretty cheap so having more units that do more dmg is usually better. then while the +1 armor is building, ill get that armory so i can continue to up them and probably get either air wep 1 or ground wep 1 (depending on what i have). But most this depends on what im playing against tho when i was in bronze/silver this worked against almost all my opponents.
when it comes down to it, u just need to build the counters for whatever the other guy is building, so scout when u can, macro up, and micro the best u can.

if ur not fast expanding u should always do a timing push whether its when ur first maruder or first siege tank its always good to do a push and check hes base out.
