What do you guys think of how a lot of companies are removing split-screen from their games and making it so the only multiplayer is online multiplayer? I for one love online multiplayer, but split-screen (and subsequently, system link) aren't entirely useless. Some people still like to play with friends and family in real life. A good model for split-screen is what Halo does, where you can have up to four people playing online at the same time, even if three of those people don't have Xbox Live Gold. Some games that don't have split-screen are Team Fortress 2, Aliens vs Predator (2010), and Medal of Honor (2010). Who else would like to see future games have split-screen and system link in them, in addition to online?

All shooter games should have split-screen and system link capabilities. The lack of split-screen for the call of duty games essentially forced me and my boyfriend to have to get another Xbox 360 just so we could play online together.

Well most shooters that are any good have a system link. COD was dropped from most Leagues because of the lack of system link in MW2. TF2 is a PC based game so there is no reason to have split screen on a game that was made on the PC first.

split screen is the ish. the re-release of Perfect Dark on the 360 brought back so many good times. though it wasnt with the same people but still nothing like using a Laptop Gun on sentry mode, planting 3 proximity mines and taking out 3 people at once (me using the Mauler on with secondary fire). though for some games it doesnt feel right like MW2 since it makes some perks useless since you cant avoid screen watching.

system link however im ok with not having. ive never really used it cept for about 4 times with Halo: Combat evolved but it was just too much work.

I enjoyed halo 3 for that only, the split screen multiplayer. best concept ever. I'd absolutely LOVE to play online with my bf on the same tv, same console. I don't wanna cough up another 400 for a system and a game. eff that. Split screen is incredible. Saves people money and it makes games fun. Half of the time, I buy games JUST for split screen.

I think games should have split screen. Not everybody can play online so they should still have some opportunity to play with friends on one console.

I'm in favor of all games having a split-screen and system link mode, mostly for the reasons already mentioned.

However in certain games (L4D begin a prime example) I don't think split-screeners should be allowed to vote twice. I know not everyone that plays split-screen is out to screw up everyone elses public game, but you have to admit it happens _a lot_.

System link is always a good addition. Sometimes I host LAN parties and it is fun to play on a local network with no lag. Sometimes I want to play online but don't want to use Xbox live, when I'm in the mood I hop on the xlink network and play with people all over the country via the system link mode.

I agree. it pisses me off that they count as two votes when they just go around shooting teamates/deathracing. >.<
