PMS Leaders,

The DOA Army has recently made the commitment to help those women who enjoy gaming, to experience the full opportunity available to them by taking part in an active clan that plays more than Halo2 or Counter Strike.

We would like to expand our clan’s community by inviting women to join the new, yet separate division of the DOA Army called the DOA Divas. It is our belief that women do belong in the gaming community and we would like to do our part to give them every opportunity regardless of their skill level to enjoy the experience of being a member of a clan.

The DOA Divas will have the opportunity to form their own leadership, from Clan Leader on down to what will hopefully be a large number of members. The DOA Army will support them in every way possible, including Homepage space, their own Forum space, and any encouragement or advice that they may request, all while affording them the opportunity to run the clan pretty much on their own, as long as the guidelines set forth by the leadership of the DOA Army are met.

As the PMS Clan is a very well known female clan in the world of gaming, we would like to request the opportunity to recruit members into the DOA Divas on your forum. While this may seem like an unusual request, we are not looking to "steal" potential members from PMS, rather we would like to give women who enjoy gaming the opportunity to have a choice as to which clan they join. While the PMS clan has been active for quite sometime, and is always looking for potential members, the DOA Divas will allow women in gaming the opportunity to basically form their own clan, with their own leadership, and for the most part their own rules, all while being supported by an active and seasoned clan.

Hopefully the PMS leaders will see the value in expanding the number of clans in the gaming community that are headed by women, and will not only allow the DOA Army to recruit leaders and members to the DOA Divas on your forum, but will encourage women who believe they would like the chance to head up their own clan, or take part in a new clan, that this is an excellent opportunity for them.

Thank you for your time, and the DOA Army looks forward to your response,

While we appreciate your enthusiasm and interest in our site and our community, at this time it would be detrimental to PMS | H2O to allow recruitment from other communities. Clearly for conflict of interest reasons we cannot allow members to be in multiple clans, that has a tendency to create un-needed drama.

I'm afraid regardless of the rhetoric it still comes down to taking potential members and enticing them to head in a different direction. The ladies who come to this community generally do so with an intent of learning specifically about PMS | H2O, and to essentially provide advertisements to other clans would not only be distracting, but would send contradictory messages.

Are we here to promote female gaming? Most definitely, but the most efficient and effective way to do so is to focus on the entity we have here and not divide our community with a multitude of options. If it is really the desire of several members to go off and start new clans or subclans, they won't be stopped from doing so. But it would be against our interest to allow that sort of advertising on our forums when we currently provide exactly the same services and opportunities. Expanding the number and variety of clans generally makes the overall gaming environment more splintered and f actioned, especially in an ultra-competitive environment.

Most simply put, we cannot at this time provide any sort of recruitment or advertising on our forums or in our community for clans or groups, especially if they are looking to recruit members from the same demographic, or specifically from within our community. Having said that, best of luck with your clan.

Rip covered it. And while your positive attitude and polite approach to the issue is appreciated, we have active divisions across more than just Halo 2, Counterstrike, PC and Xbox, including at the moment a Fighter/DOA4 division lead I believe by Kasumi Chan PMS. Thanks for being so nice about your request and following proper channels involving it.

Thank you LadyLuck,

I'm did not come here looking to create a rift with PMS, my only intention was to request a chance to offer female gamers another opportunity to join a clan that they most likely would not have known existed.

I fully expected that your response would be just what it was, but thought with the number of people visiting the PMS Clans forum, many of which may not currently belong to a clan, that perhaps some would appreciate the opportunity to basically put together their own clan with our support.

I do believe that diversity is the key to further grow the gaming community, especially for females, as their numbers are obviously much lower then male gamers. I saw this as an excellent opportunity to do so, and had hoped PMS may feel the same way.

Thank you for your time,

Rip,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to review our request, and giving it any consideration that you may have.

However, the DOA Army has no interest in pulling members away from the PMS Clan, nor do we desire to have members in the DOA Diva's that are also members of PMS. We're certainly not looking for that kind of member either, and while we understand the fact that it was an unusual request to say the least, we felt that there was a possibility that your clan would allow this based on the attitude toward promoting female gamers, as so often reflected by PMS members in the media.

The continued diversity in the number and quality of female gamer clans, can only result in one outcome, a greater presence in the gaming world by females, which is what the DOA Army has committed to do, by helping create the Diva's. So rather then looking at this request as something that would be distracting, or something that may send contradictory messages, it should be looked at as another opportunity for the PMS Clan to continue to promote female gamers.

I do not believe that our request should not be viewed as something that would divide your community, as I have mentioned, we are not looking for current PMS members, or those who are planning to join the PMS Clan. In making this request, I had believed that it may be the desire of your clan to see more female clans in the gaming community. I am unsure what would bring you to the conclusion that by expanding the number and variety of clans out there would hurt the gaming environment in the least bit, it ought to strengthen it if anything. The number of members in PMS is outstanding, and it speaks volumes about the work PMS has done, and your ability to market your clan, so wouldn't it be great to see more clans headed by women, with whom PMS and others could challenge in clan matches?

I appreciate your right to respectfully decline our request, but I hope it's for the right reasons. It seems that you have concerns, and perhaps rightfully so, that by granting our request we may pull members from your clan, or prevent new members from joining the PMS community. However, with your clans exposure, and fame, I doubt the Diva's would hurt your ability to recruit members into the PMS Clan in any way. Why not take the next step in the female gaming community and encourage more clans to form? The PMS Clan has the unusual and remarkable ability to do just that with your notoriety and the amount of media exposure available to you.

Please discuss this request with the leaders of the PMS Clan, and give it further consideration before declining it.

Thank you again for your response, and the DOA Army sincerely hopes this is request is not taken in the wrong context, we are not trying to create controversy, we are only looking to give the Diva's a jump start, and thought perhaps with your help we could do just that.
