Last night, I could not sign into halo...said "account not current", however, I was already on on xbl on the 360. I chatted for a bit in 360 chat, then was abruptly, completely disconnected from xbl. I had to recover my tag, was able to get onto halo at that time, but went back to chat. About 20 minutes later...disconnected again. Recovered the tag and set a password. Disconnected again. Waited until this am to recover, had to do it again.

XBL informed me that yes, someone was recovering my tag onto another system, and I was recovering it back. They were able to do this even after I set a password. XBL worked with me to change some info, phone, zip, email, password, but could not promise my tag would be safe:( They also said they could not track what IP my tag was associated with at what time, maybe the banning department could but they cant request things from them, only the other way around or some such thing. Just wanted people to be aware.

The exact same thing happened to my husband. He could not get on his account, but on my FL i could see his account was online in matchmaking!. Hombre Pajaro even joined "his" party and noone was talking to him..lol
My husband called XBL and they helped him..but it was a really freaky feeling to see someone else playing on your account. Apparently it happens every now and then according to XBL.

Could you not just change the name of the account so that they cannot recover it? Not sure if changing the name affects whether it can be recovered though.

Kind of sad people can do that. PMS/H20 will be always a target. Their is a lot of Men (and even women) out their that don't like the PMS and H20 Clan units. It be many reasons for this hate for H20 and PMS, but those people are out their and willing to do anythign to destroy the two Clans or at least give them a bad name.

Hopefully, the Xbox Live team can track him or her and end their little game. :D

I would think it'd be easy for the people at XBL customer support to open a ticket to have the person ILLEGALLY using your information to STEAL your account tracked and banned completely from the service. Guess not.

Don't you need your credit card number to retrieve your XBL account? How did the other person get information like your CC number, address, etc? That's something you should look into to make sure it doesn't happen again. If someone's got your CC number they might not only be using it to try to steal your account.

It could be an inside job at Microsoft, there must be alot of employees that have access to people's information so maybe one of them had a bad encounter and wanted some pay back?

I had a friend who got his CAL account for CS hacked. Although Steam hasn't worked with him much, so it really kinda sucks.
Hackers are really the lowest of the low. Good Luck for safekeeping of your tag.

That's horrible. I hope they get caught and punished because I'm sure that is violating some law, though the law it is violating has slipped my mind. I hope everything gets worked out for everyone.

LMAO at conspiricy theories. Highly unlikely. I'm pretty sure Xbox jobs are coveted, and no one would jeapordize working for Xbox just to pettily go on a random gamertag joy ride.

More like somebody is somehow recovering your MSN passport by using information they know about you. All you need is passport information/password to recover a GT.

I know one way to get somones account is if you have the address and name of person and the name of XBL tag. They just call in a say that they dont remember what CC they put the account on. Atleast thats what happen the the Exit Woundz guys.
