This is inspired by events in my life, people in my life, and a poem by Robert Frost.

"Can't Stay"

The day flows swiftly to night
health turns to plight,
peace turns to war,
friendship turned into something more

Happiness uprooted my heart
in the grand stage of life I had the best part,
but so deftly does fate move its pieces into place,
so soon does sorrow need to be faced

Some things will turn,
fires will douse themselves when expected to burn,
people don't change, but matters of the heart do,
was I so ignorant then that I didn't have a clue?

But enough self-pity and philosophy,
let me turn the key and open the door to destiny
It hurts me to admit it, but these words I need to say,
The joy of beginnings fall to day,

and nothing gold can stay.

Really nice, Demon! I especially like the last line. :)

Tell me, do you still have a myspace? My friend from work started a poetry group, and we are always looking for new members who actually want to post their work and particapate. Let me know. :)

Weary, it was inspired by my girlfriend breaking up with me. I don't understand how it's heartwarming, lol.

and herb, of course I'd love to join a poetry group. My myspace is here

and by the way, the last line is taken from the poem by Robert Frost, More of an homage really.
