As I'm sure you are all well aware, Hurricane Earl is on its way up the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. It should hit the Carolinas sometime on Thursday and then arc its way up along the shore. Most coastal areas from OBX all the way up to the Jersey Shore will experience tropical storm-force winds and rain between Thursday night and Friday night, and then Friday night into Saturday, NYC, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts will begin to experience the effects of the storm, and then it will start heading east and back out to sea.

There is a small possibility that if Hurricane Earl's path shifts west just a little bit, the entire eastern seaboard will likely see Category 2 hurricane conditions, which means winds of up to 110mph and torrential rains. Damage and flooding would occur.
I know I don't have to remind everyone what happened in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina, so please everyone remember to stay safe, if it gets too bad do NOT decide that it's the right time to go out shopping. Please do your shopping for groceries well in advance of Thursday and Friday, do not go out driving, do not visit the beach or go surfing, and stay away from windows if the wind gets too big. I want you all to be absolutely safe, so please heed my warning.
It does not look like it will be too bad now, but a lot can happen in the next 24 hours, so please take care.

I love them =D I mean, granted, I don't want them tearing my house apart, but there's nothing like sitting in the dark because the power went out with a bunch of candles as your only light playing board or card games with your friends and family or reading a book while the rain and wind are pounding at your windows and doors..

Yes, aside from wildfires, earthquakes and possibly falling into the ocean hurricanes aren't that scary I guess.

yeahhh...this is why I had living in the middle of the woods. So many rogue branches! They can be quite the vicious little buggers, y'know.
Wooo... Gives me a chance to practice driving in heavy rain. We don't get a lot of heavy storm so the most extreme for me so far is mountain driving in the blizzard. :) if you know what I mean by driving...

Earl has been reclassified as Category 2 and is headed straight for Cape Hatteras, NC. Anyone in that area between North Carolina and Virginia needs to get off the road NOW and get indoors.

dont get me wrong dude... but if people are on the roads right now they are idiots. when a storm hits down here its a ghost town except for emergency vehicles and thats only up to tropical storm force winds.
