Hey guys was wondering if you could help me out. For last few months been thinking about getting a gaming headset for my 360 and only ones I've seen about the stores have been Turtle Beaches. However, I don't know too much about them. The ones I've seen in stores has been the XLC, X1, X11, X31 and X41. I don't want a pair of headphones that will break within the first year or that will need new batteries like everyday lol and the most that I would pay is between £100-£150. Any help at all guys and gals would be great :D Thank you:mvsmile:

I use Tritton AX Pros and they ran me $170. I love them! Although they're wired, I can use them on 360, PS3 and PC.

I have Turtle Beach x11 and I love them. I've only had them for about a month now so I can't say much about lasting for more than a year. They are wired, so no need for batteries. They are a bit tricky if you use hdmi to play on though. I wasn't looking for anything super amazing and expensive, just something that won't break on me like the microsoft headsets.
I've heard lots of good things about other headsets too though, but they are a bit pricey.

I have a pair of SteelSeries Siberias i hate them :D I originally bought them for ps3 i found the mic was really quiet.. second problem i had was there was no "mic" slot on my TV and i needed one for the headset to work. Last but not least the girlfriend would laugh at me when i wore them >< i'm certain i wouldnt be setting any new trends wearing them out.

I use the X41's and they are great just as good as Astros's but you cant have the custom ear tags. If I were you I would get them, there $199 so if you dont want to spend that much go for the X11's. Tritton's will brake within a year if you dont take care of them so will x11's. so take care of them and you'll be good :P
X41's I have had then for about over a year

yeah I've gotta say, turtle beach has a good reputation for durable products. I have a set that were actually special built and I've had them for 4 years I believe so, if you are wondering about durability, turtle beach is good. But it's always a good idea to shop around just to be sure you find exactly what you're looking for.

I have some Tritton 180s (their "cheaper" brand) and I LOVE them. They are so comfy <3
I've tried the Steel Series Siberians as well, but they hurt my ears. I have little ears though.
I've also tried the SS Siberia (the ones that don't go around the back of your head) and they're comfy and really light, and they have a nice pad (I don't know how to explain it, you would just have to see it) that makes it so the top of your head doesn't hurt.
Finally, I have the Turtle Beach X1s (which I don't believe they make anymore but are extremely similar to the X11s) and while I like them, I'm not as crazy about them as I am about my Trittons. I end up using them for my PC while I use my Trittons for my Xbox.

I recommend Triton Ax 720's. 170 Bucks but it includes a 1 year warranty so you'd be able to get as many headsets, in case it breaks

If you're going to spend more than $50 on a headset, get an Astro Mixamp + HPX Headset. Anything less is personal preference as this combo is statistically the hands down best option.
I have the Astro Mixamp, three X11's, Astro headset, & HPX headset.
Added: To give you an idea of how big of a difference the Astro/HPX combo makes, I took a temporary LOA while my HPX gets sent back for repairs. I can't even play with the x11's or astro's anymore

That brings up a good question, what went up with your TB. Was it the left side by any chance?

It broke. I try to talk about my personal life as little as possible on here. Thankfully it's still in warranty so they're swapping it out for free for me. I'm praying I have it by the 27th for the 1v1 Tourney. Everything sounds so ghetto compared to the Astro/HPX combo. I tried going back to my Astro/Astro combo but it just doesn't cut it.

I got the TB x11's at Christmas and they only lasted me around 6 months. I was extremely disappointed and am going to have to get another one for my birthday. Other than that they are a fantastic headset. I could hear where those pesky little Ninja pro's are (like me :p), and I could hear exactly where they were coming from.
Pro tip: Don't use Heartbeat sensors. All you need is the headset.
BTW The bass is excellent for music.

My friend and I both have Turtle Beaches and hers are the Wireless, and mine are the X11's, and she finds mine more comfortable? I'm not sure about that though. But I really love them, and they've improved my game play a lot.

i was actually looking into buying a headset too. i went to the store and i saw 4 different brands and didnt kno which one would be a good one to get.
sharkoon, triton pros and some logitech for 170
then there was the 5.1/7.1 dpx21 turtle beach that i was looking at for 149.
there was also the px21 stereo sound. idk if thats a huge difference or not compared to the dpx. i read earlier on this thread that its a hassle if ur playing on hdmi?
these are all wired and works on pc xbox and ipods.
any opinions on which one or brand to get out of these? i want something hella comfortable cuz i be gaming 10 hrs + with a good mic, nothing that screeches or picks up background noise.

Hey Swoop, I'm using the PX21. They're my first proper headset I've used for ps3 and I think they're great, really comfortable. I don't mind the fact that they're wired, at least I don't have to worry about charging it when batterys low. Like I said they're the only headset that I've used so I can only give you my opinion on how I feel about them, I think they're definitely worth getting :)

I have some Turtle Beaches, as well. I have had them for about 3 years now. I love them to death! I can't imagine gaming without them. It did set me back $100, but they have totally paid for themselves. Plus I had them when I was living in my dorm. I like to blast my tv, so it was good to have those as loud as I wanted and not disturb any neighbors.

I had the x11's but then decided to upgrade to the Px5's they are very expensive but i work at a store here in Canada where I was able to get them for an amazing price. They're a wireless headset which you can create customized presets for, depending on which game your playing at the time. Go for Tritton Ax Pros :) not only do they sound good, but they feel SO comfortable on your head! Make sure you check the warranties tho; tritton won't ship replacements outside the USA (mad katz or someone does it for europe but its not simple)
pick them up on amazon for £130something :)

I was looking to expand the audio capabilities of my Xbox 360 and stumbled upon these beauties. I had never owned high-quality headphones like these, so figuring out all the necessary configurations was a bit confusing. All I can tell you is that you NEED a Y-Splitter and an Astro Mixamp or it won't do these cans justice. Once I messed around with the audio, testing various things, I found what worked best. Played Fallout 3 and was blown away by the positional audio, as well as how amazingly all the audio in the game was enhanced. I literally jumped out of my chair when I first fired a weapon, it was like I was holding it in my hand! Sound clarity is incredible, as advertised, bass is NOT 'thumpy' like Beats focus on: the bass is clarity and precision oriented, so that may throw some people off. I find these cans very very comfortable as well, even though I have no hair to use as padding, they feel like they are practically floating on my head, very light. Music and game audio, both enhanced by leaps and bounds, all the sounds come through super clear and precise in both high and low ranges. As far as the appearance goes: man these are sweet. People gripe about this, but the wings are a great design feature (comfy) and who really needs another part of BLACK headphones? BTW, these are HUGE and will fit a large person's head very well (like my huge melon), if you are diminutive, you may want to test them out first.

Here is my friend and I's experience. I have the TB x31 and my friend did too. He went through 2 of them already. The problem is the cord that goes from your TB's to the controller breaks somehow. It doesn't matter how gentle you are for some reason it just happens. Also if you buy any of the wireless TB it interferes with your wireless modem if you have one.
A good TB headset is the Px5's I think is what they are called. Kinda like Astros without the Mixamp. Run about over $200 maybe $250, can't remember.
I prefer the Astro A40's though. Costs alot and there are a lot of things to buy for it but in the end it is worth it all. Crystal clear sound and it fits nicely on your head making it to where your ears don't hurt after long gameplay.
