Yeah, we guys have some ego issues regarding the fact that you're taking over everything that defines us and gives us identity. You're enforcing an evolution that in best case would take millenia and expecting us to adapt in a few hundred years. I saw the video of your subtle leader, Amber Dalton, as she attempted to convince people it wasn't about proving you're better than us guys, yet your little clan here is all-girls? It's hypocricy, and it's all about the women getting the priviledges of the men(and NOT the other way round)than it has to do with equality.
Well, that and winning over guys to wave your little clan banner around and faces claim that they lost because you're girls. Otherwise, the genderbased clanname would be completely pointless, right? It's all about making men feel bad about their own gender, and when they do, you yell they're the sexists, to make them feel even worse, and justifying what you do. Me, on the other hand, I'm too smart to be fooled into such delusions.
Meh, you're just another feminist movement, and I hope I get the chance to frag the superiority complex out of you someday, especially your prescious leader. It would just be one out of an endless and unstoppable ocean of girl gamer clans, but boy, would it rock my world.

I completely agree with you. This past week was the first time I met any of them and I thought every single one I met was cool. Obviously this person hasn't met any of them.
It's a shame that people think like this, but this is one of many people that just don't know.

PMS if you haven't noticed is more like "you scratch my back i'll scratch yours" type of thing. I dont' remember anything about amber dalton claiming girls are better then guys. I just see her claiming that girls are just as good as guys. In some cases BETTER. I'm not some kiss *** like this is starting to sound. If any of the PMS girls claimed that a guys been sexist or something like that they deserved it, "i've never seen them say that and i've actually played with them". nope your english. and i'm only saying hes an 8th grader because he learned words he didn't know. then tryed to spell them out incorrectly. I'm sure i spelled some words wrong to. but yeah. he did as much research as a usual american student as well as an ego to match. haha. but some spelling mistakes are ok but not when there used to insult someone.

sorry didn't mean it as a counterpart. and i dare not say apart of it. but in a way h2o is a support wing from what i read off the things or it was just my what I thought it was. Sorry about that. I still have alot to learn i guess. thanks for correcting me.

And I think you do need "haters", if that's what you wanna call it. I prefer to see it as criticism, whether it's founded or not. Everything in this world needs a little criticism, most of the time when you are on the inside nothing seems wrong, people need an outside perspective IMO. However, like I said, this is not a good example of it. There's always several ways to look at things, that's what's so wonderful about the idea of the free exchange of ideas and just free thinking and speech.
On another note, I'm a little upset that people get banned so often for giving their opinion. Opinions don't hurt anyone, unless they're taken personally. But on the otherhand, I have yet to see anyone give their opinion in a respectful and adult matter. So, so far, I think it's ok to ban most of these people. But I would hope that the moderators keep an open mind when someone gives an opposing opinion in a respectful way.

How absurd is it to even claim video games define the male ego and give it identity, they're a hypothetical creation, a form of artwork - that has come to fruition in the past few decades. Saying it defines male culturalism is one of the most myopic statements I've seen on here. Don't tell me that you believe women shouldn't be involved in acting or writing books too. I'm a guy and very strongly feel that what defines men is a state of mind and a persona - expressed in a plethora of ways, but not subject to any single activity or object. That and physical characteristics between the genders, but thats just a given.
Kasumi, the last sentence says it all - this person wasn't here to put forth a well worded debate about the legitimacy of single gender clans or PMS in general. I don't think its right to jump down the throat of anyone who disagrees with what PMS / H2O are or represent, but if their intentions are simply to troll and their minds completely unalterable then it would be only wasting everyones time and begin flame wars to entertain hate topics. Good debates here are few and far between, and those who feel strongly enough to register a user name most of the time simply post out of pure hatred. Sad but true, I would entertain some good conversations on the subject if the parties would be willing to discuss in a professional manner, but how often does that happen on such a charged subject

and another thing. I kinda agree with him on the name, only not completely. I lot of guys find it very strange when they hear of a female clan named PMS, and yes it's a clever way of identifying ourselves, but most guys don't understand what PMS is, so they get all disgusted and become even more volotile then before they know we're a female clan.
I know I'm not in the clan, but I love these girls and this community and I believe I have a right to defend the good thing they're doing for girls in the video game world. Guys like this make me mad, because if they can come on here and be so sexist about this clan, then they obviously have not played with girls on xbox live much, let only associated themselves with us in real life.

those are good. i tend to go spicy and get a garlic bagel with onion and chive cream cheese. once i made the mistake of eating one of those at my desk at work... and i forgot breath mints that day.

I do random admin stuff, plus printing maps from autocad on the side. i'm in a cubicle, so everyone around me could smell it. someone across the aisle noticed and i overheard her criticism. doh!

It's astounding to me that anyone could, in this day and age have an opinion like this!
In our society, as much as things have moved along, it is still a male dominated world. Furthermore, there are plenty of Male only organisations/clubs out there - and in the world of gaming, not so much by choice, clans are normally all male.
I don't think many males realise the sheer amount of hassle we get when we play online games. When I'm playing CSS I get bugged, insulted, have lewd comments made to me pretty much every day! PMS is a godsend!
Here is a place where like-minded people can talk about things that interest them! I'm a member of a more 'traditional' mixed gender gaming community - but I can't talk to them like I can to the girls here! And in the other community, there is still the underlying feeling that i'm slightly odd for being what outwardly is a very normal girl, having an unusual (often considered masculine) hobby.
And further rambling - I don't see how women are taking over things which define men? Historically women have been oppressed and forced into subservient roles, denied a full education and paid less for equal work. This generation has been brought up more equally - I stress the word equal. A woman is better at certain things than men, and men certainly excel in others, but we deserve the fair choice to do what we want, with out ill thought out petty criticism.
If he thinks he's being badly treated and discriminated against, he should have a day in a girl gamer's shoes.

Well put LegoGirl. Although guys like this one directly promote the patriarchy, most men are just a member of the society that is uncontrollably male dominant, whether they promote it or not. There are things about society that just ARE and one person alone can't change. One issue is that when men hear the word patriarchy they automatically get defensive and cause a backlash. A huge backlash of feminism is that although we just want equality and not "more power" as most antifeminists put it, most of them have issues with giving up the unequal amount of power for equality. That is where this guy steps in and tries to stop the loss of his power. This is why he had to come on here and prove himself and intimidate us. It's the fear of loss of his unequal power (the domination of the gaming industry) that is promoting this action in him. They just need to see that we're not trying to takeover but take our fair share, nothing more, nothing less.

Then avoid using the work patriarchy. If you want to have a good debate on the subject (and it sounds like you do) then it is best to avoid putting the other person on the defensive. You won't change anyone's view if they feel they need to defend what they believe is right. This is a general rule, not just on the subject of feminism.

Not using the word helps but it's hard to avoid implying just the same when you argue topics like equal pay and they still get defensive... "what are you talking about women make the same as men, inequality amongst men and women doesn't exist anymore, you can vote quit complaining." This defense is called "invisible privilege" and as long as the privileges remain invisible they won't be an issue and won't be solved.
You won't change anyone's view if they feel they need to defend what they believe is right.
Right and wrong is not a tool used when arguing against feminism; at least I've never seen it. Trying to say the antifeminist view is right is just like saying, "equality is wrong,” that’s why antifeminists dare not use right and wrong.
They just need to see that we're not trying to takeover but take our fair share, nothing more, nothing less.
I wanted to rebuff what I said here. Seeing that all we want is equality doesn't help when greed is involved, which I believe it is.
