View Full Version : EarthQuake In Hawaii!

For those who don't know, there was an earthquake Sunday morning in the Hawaiian Islands. There was one actual "earthquake", measured at 6.6, and about 20 smaller aftershocks. Luckily for me, I live about 130 miles away from where the earthquake actually originated. It lasted about 5 minutes and caused no real structual damage on any island except for Hawaii (big island, furthest east). So basically yesterday we had no power and nothing to do but stay inside and keep our food cool. I realized how much I depend on electricity.
But I'm happy 'cause my school is closed today! :)
If this ever happens again I'm moving lol

Lol! haha i'm glad your ok. I heard about the earthquake yesterday. but i guess thats to be expected since theres sooo many volcanos along those islands. Well as i said before glad your safe and um Happy fragging

OMG ok so my Xbf aka BEST FRIEND EVA lives down their and he was right in the middle of it his house was a complete disaster lol and it woke him up*he was sleeping* and threw him off of the bed ^_- luckily super woman*me* saved him he he

Yes, many people were upset with the airports closing and the power taking so long to come back up.

Heard about in Sunday afternoon. Didn't surprise me. I knew it was was any time now for it to happen. A friend of mine AIM me when he got power back and telling about. I been through 1,000 earthquakes when I lived in Palmdale, CA. So pretty much I don't really focus on them. You still got aftershocks to worry about. :p
The people upset about the airfields being close shouldn't be upset. If they land or take off when a Aftershock happens (a good size one after the big guy hit), their planes most likely lose control at those speeds and end up as a fireball. So, I say deal with it. Things happen and they wanted you to be safe.
