It's pretty close by, 45th St. and 9th Ave, probably a 10 minute walk from the Javits Center.

You have to be 21 to get in. That would eliminate some people, but it's a thought for us adults.

Maybe I'm biased because I'm not 21, but I guess I'd hope that the people I'm hanging out with wouldn't go to places that exclude people. I know corperate is all hoping that everybody goes clubbing, though, so I suppose thats unavoidable.

On the topic of dinner, though.. I know wertz/gyps are coming in to JFK at 10pm on Weds.. and Star/Aliki/Midol are leaving LGA at Midnight.. I'll be there way way early at 1:30pm. If you guys dont like airport food, maybe we could find something to eat late night. Also, if anybody is arriving as early as I am, be sure to let me know.. even if I dont know you, would be fun to meet new people.

I'm 25.

Who's going, I like to go.

Thats lovely, but there are a good number of people who will not be over 21, I'm sure there will be evenings when the 21 and over crowd hit the town, if you're thinking about a dinner, including everyone would be kinda nice if possible.
As for the thurs morning thing (aka after we all get to the hotel), i'm game for that. 1AM or 1:30 is prob around the time-frame, but be warned, Rip will be very tired - I have an 8AM class tomorrow morning.

No, I'm not saying you should 'part' with the 'little kids', however bear in mind that a lot of the success of this community has come about because of some 'kids' in addition to the incredible job done by those over 21. It is a community, this community is not designed to segregate based on age. Oh, and just for your reference, a large portion of the work done on this site is done by 'kids', forum styles, moderation, and even some administration. Most of the documentation, artwork, and events include to varying degree 'kids'. We're not saying you cannot go clubbing, and I'm sure you will have the chance to, but take a step back and think about who you might be getting on the wrong side of before making superficial judgments about those under 21.

Oh and for the record, I'm 19.

I don't think you understood at all what I was getting across. The community doesn't exclude people because they are not 21. So no, i do not have "2 years to go" as you 'so eloquently' put it. If you want to be a part of the community you'll have to deal with the fact that there are those under 21 in it.

Of course you can go clubbing, and i'm sure others over 21 will go clubbing as well. And of course I hope you all have a blast, that is kinda the purpose. If you want to organize some sort of club outing there's nothing wrong with that, but being rude to those who are under 21 is not cool at all.

I would really appreciate it if you would stop referring to the people under 21 as "kids." It's very rude considering that there are alot of people that are under 21 on the forums. If you don't want to hang out with people under 21, that's your business, theres no need to insult Rip and others.

Thats kinda contradictory to what i was reading out of it as well, one post you mean one thing and on another you seem to mean another.

In either case from a totally 3rd party outside point of view It looked entirely like you were referring to everyone under 21 as a kid, weather you mean to do so or not.

Someone eat something in my honor, since I'll no doubt be working.

I dont think its fair to put anything in any age category to be honest. I may be 17, but I'm no kid.. Rips 19 but he's no kid.. Even people younger are mature enough to be labeled as adults in my book.

Regardless, this really shouldn't have escalated at all.. We're all going to NY to have fun. Unfortunately the law tells us that certain people can't go to certain places. Us who are barred from these places can only hope that you guys wont ditch us completely, knowing in advance that everyone is young. Just keep in mind that we all follow the same banner and go to the same forums and want to hang out with eachother before deciding where you want to go. In no way am I saying to not go to Zanzibar, just not every night :)

KilloWertz
10-10-2006, 04:33 PM
From the looks of it, we'll probably be just winging the nightly entertainment each night. While I would have no problem getting into any of these places, I do hope that we at least go to some places as a group. I'm sure there will be groups doing their own thing, but hopefully not every night. I'm sure we'll figure something out.

As far as dinner tomorrow night, I'm up for whatever. I'd much rather do that than eating at the airport.

So long as you're the one who asks the waiter for the PMS Discount.

Acccording to Ihop.com though, the closest one is on 134th street.. considering that the hotel is on 34th street, thats a ways away unless someones driving :/.

I'm up for anything. I have everyone's number that gave it to me and everyone's info. I'll try not to leave anyone behind when it comes to anything we decide to do.

Hehe, and Ihop sounds fine Vinx if you can find one close by and I promise no sniper spitballs this time...maybe.

BTW, we have our own booth guys. So stop by and say hi. We'll be at booth 1261 and we're on the exhibitors list on the DL site under Pandora's Might Soldiers.

And I haven't even charged my DSs' or PSP.

There's an IHOP in Brooklyn that's about 25-30 minutes away according to Yahoo.

I prefer ihop to dennys, although I won't be getting there till late Thur. morning.

There's always all the other days we're there as well if you get there too late.
