Halo 1 online again?

Is there EVER going to be an Xbox Live version of Halo 1? I remember the good old days playing with some friends on Xbox Connect and GameSpy ( -OS- ruled the servers). I miss Halo 1 and would so love to play it again. I left the Halo Saga after HL2 came out, no one played Halo 1 on the Tunnel servers anymore. I also left the Saga because I felt that too much changed and I miss the pistol. Do any of you know if it will ever come to the online world legit and populated again?

no. i can pretty much guarantee that halo1 is dead. what with working on Halo Wars, Halo3, and the other mystery halo game, they don't have time for that. plus...if they would do it, they would have done it already.

it seems like you play PC games. get Halo:CE. it's a really good PC game, i have it and it has online, plus some new weapons and such.

Ya know, I tried halo PC, Ironicly I hate counsel now and love PC gaming but halo pc just didn't work for me. It was all about the super mini xbox controler, it just felt wrong on pc. lol you must have small hands. i do agree, for some reason halo pc just isn't like i remember halo. but, it's the only substitute, so i deal with it.

i actually never played over XBC. i tried it once, but i didn't really liked it. the most i miss is (no joke) 5 hour long capture the flag 8 vs 4 (the 4 best in our group, me included, and what we called the "hoard" the not so good kids in our group, but since there was more of them, it actually balanced out perfectly =P) on sidewinder. omfg, that was the ****. being half asleep guarding the flag lol. pistol, sniper, best combo ;)

I've tried playing this game in multiplayer, and judging by the movement and general speed of this game, it feels like the game is set under water.

well yeah. but the topic was about halo1, so i commented about halo:ce. i think everything about it is the same has halo1, the speed, movement, it's all the same, it's just that it has more maps, more weapons, and for some reason the pc controls don't feel right.

OOOOhhh yes. I remember when it would just be the three of us. We would 3 v 12 over the net and we would sit and defend the flag for hours. Having several hundred kills when they all finally quit was the best! MMMmm-mmm my sniper rifle behind blue base in Blood Gulch, those were the days.... Ever stand behind your base with the rifle and fight off 12 guys chasing after your teammate while he carries the flag back?

yeah. there were a lot of those moments, you jump up and down screaming OMG OMG GO GOGOGO as you kill 8 of 'em and then they respawn all around you, and you eventually die, but you got that damn flag outta their. ugh i miss it soooo much :(

awwwe there there *pats shoulder* maybe halo 3 will bring back some of the old style, like the power that the pistol had AND HEALTH (gawd why did they change that and eww swords are lame) but look at it this way, you play Halo2 and are comfortable with it, I take it... I was so dissapointed by how they changed the game, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. I feel kinda betrayed by bungie just like the players of SWG feel betrayed by SOE... but that's another story heh

i have hopes that halo3 will do that, hopefully revive lan parties. yeah, if you notice, halo2 kind of started a trend of no health, almost none of 360's shooters have health, you just go out until your screen flashes red, and then dodge into cover, wait till it's clear again...and then your fine, COD2, GeOW, PDZ (i think), COD3. it's just dumb, someone doesn't get shot to hell, and then duck undercover and instantly be perfectly fine again..yeah i play halo2, mainly because, yeah it has it's multiplayer moments where you get excited, but because all the people on my friends list play it, and it has the best messaging/party system.

PDZ does have health.
Health sometimes dosn't work very well (Example Metroid for DS) and should be used in which makes most sense by adding or not ruining the gameplay, It wasn't that the health wasn't there or I was one who complained about no more pistol. Halo 2 has too many glitches that happen during gameplay and crappy weapon balence and such that make it easier for people to play which must have been their goal with that.
I also hate PCs ease to use for playing FPS games, playing against people and being able to use a controller to aim makes it more difficult and is more fun to beat people with. I even sanded down my 360 controller so I could comfortably play how I used to on my Xbox.
I play XBC sometimes(Halo1) , I use the same name as my GT.

dam, i played halo1 like a few weeks ago and MAN i could not belive that the graphics where like that, i mean the armor looks far better in the second, and the shoty looked more faker. i used to like it to. but now its old and like zitch put it ever so nicely DEAD AS IT GETS and really, whats so bad about halo2, excludeing the moders etc:confused: i mean ya halo1 was cool and all, but.... you have to let it go and move on like the brave little people you are:D don't worry i was kidding about the little people thing:D

sure, the character models aren't as good, but the landscape in multiplayer, IMO is waaaaaaay more realistic looking, and dare i say it! not "shiny" (like most of microsoft's most recent games). also if you don't know the story, the armor is a different type, so it looking better...is obvious. no offense, but lol "more faker" engrish please lmao, but the shotty is a lot more realistic in halo1, at least it kills someone when you blow out their back at point blank...unlike halo2, and i didn't mean it as a good thing that it's dead, it's only dead thanks to halo2, which really pisses me off :) what is wrong with halo2? almost everything, and i'm not talking about multiplayer now, the single player is far better, and far more indepth than halo2, and it's more realistic, i mean come on, there was a ****ing final boss in halo2, what the **** is that? and the "arbiter level's?" i mean, come on bungie, it was a cool idea to make the story from a covenant point of view, but ya could have made it a LOT more enjoyable. not to mention the multiplayer is so bad, the matchmaking is ok, but then you add in the little kids that for some reason know swear words, and actually call teenagers who could sit on them and kill them, retards and all that crap, also the weapon imbalance is huge, smg versus, BR, sniper rifle, duals, rokets (spelt wrong on purpose), swordz! is stupid and horrible. and i'm not even gonna stomp on the leveling system, everyone knows it's already garbage.

Xbox connect *program from your comp that runs halo 1 like xbox live*. its pretty fun. you get to chat with gamers like IRC but also hook games up over the internet. *4v4* etc. its a great way to get some practice in with people.

Xbox connect *program from your comp that runs halo 1 like xbox live*. its pretty fun. you get to chat with gamers like IRC but also hook games up over the internet. *4v4* etc. its a great way to get some practice in with people.

Skywalker...Halo 2 would of had the HALO name no matter what jackson.
