I am looking to buy a new game. I know Oblivion is old, but people are saying good things about it. My question is, what does this game do for Xbox Live? Online world or something?

as far as i know. it has nothing to do with xbox live. it's an rpg. PC has a mod however where you can co-op quests lmao.
but if your looking for multiplayer, oblivion is not where you want to go.

Thats all I needed to know. :) Thanks. One game off my buying list.

If you have a lot of time to spare and like looking at amazing environments then this is a good game. Online would have been nice, but it isn't the only problem.
Roaming the world is good because you have a whole country to frolic in, but the dungeons are very repetative even though many are unique purely in their layout.
There are loads of quests to do though so it is more of a solo-play-for-ages game.

It is, in my opinion, the best game on the system. If you are looking strictly for online play though, then you would be doing the right thing by passing obviously.

lol if you become a multiplayer nut (like me) you find it hard to buy a single-player only game... (i.e. Oblivion, ...and a couple others [brain freeze...you gotta love em xD])
lol but yea, idid rent oblivion...and re rented it till i beat alot of the game...its fun, and worth the renting, although if your only there for playing online...dont go for it.
beautiful story lines though :)

Oblivion easily allows for the most gameplay of any game on the 360 right now. And as for sheer scale, the only game on the horizon to challenge Oblivion's enviorments is Alan Wake.
As for Xbox Live, Oblivion has some very good downloadable content that adds new quests and sections to the already enormous map.
