Ghost Recon: Future Solider Delayed :(

In addition to the news on Call of Duty: Black Ops there's some more war orientated (not so great) information regarding Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Originally a 'holiday period' release, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told a Ubisoft Investors Briefing:


Due to a very competitive environment, we decided to move the game out of the Christmas quarter, and into the March quarter. It will also provide additional time to our development teams to realize their vision.

Presumably this relates to the end of Ubisoft's fiscal year, and we could probably read from this that the title will go on general sale at the back end of March. This seems to be confirmed by Kimi Matsuzaki, Senior Community Developer, for Ubisoft who tweeted:

"Yes, [Ghost Recon] Future Soldier has been delayed to early 2011. It’s good, we have more polish time." - (http://twitter.com/UbiKimi/status/14243043079)

Future Solider should still make a showing at the next E3 which will afford gamers the opportunity to get a first look at the title, but that's the only of light for avid Ghost Recon fans at the moment.

It would seem that Ubisoft are potentially worried about the impact of Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops (two of the largest holiday titles due this year) on sales of Ghost Recon after a fairly long period of time out of the public's eye and mind.

I know when I heard about it was like "oh man" but maybe yeah It'll be better can't wait

Not as super hyped as you two, but mainly because I didn't play GRAW too much back then. But this was mainly because I was very anti Xbox 360; I was a PC purist, where anything they did to ruin the PC games I hated, and I would blame for the 360 for it.

since then though, I've had a change of heart, and I am curious about how this would turn out. I've even hated anything Halo related. It's way too overhyped (I still think so), but I'm not as biased as I used to be. Nowadays whatever game I see or play, I take it for what it is, and just have fun with it, instead of being so negative about everything.


Okay.... went a little tooo far about my opinion with this thread. Sorry for derailing it. All in all, though, I am quite curious about the new Ghost Recon; I do enjoy tactical FPS games actually.

Holy Crap, Ari3s!! O_O Just noticed your gamertag points that you have over 74,000 points??? geez, you play a lot.

I don't even think I'd equate to that, even if I included my ps3 trophies to the total achievements points, if that were possible, as well as all the PC steam games I played.

Actually from what i hear they will be still having the beta this summer even though the game is delayed till March. Just gotta have splinter cell and the beta code from preordering it.

Interesting. Before joining H2O I was on a competitive team (placing in the top 10 on GB every season) for GRAW and GRAW 2. After the sequel my team moved to COD4, and I eventually moving on and joined H2O.

I'll definitely take a look at this game and buy it. I know Ghost Recon is a bit different from most FPS as it is played in Third Person. But it's a great franchise and should prove to be a great game.

Yeah hopefully H2O can get a team like they had for Graw and Graw 2. Yall will be beasting them on the GB ladders.

GRAW2 was the 1st game I ever played GB's on as well as the 1st Clan I was ever the leader of with 100 members. I hope we get a grate team here in H2O cause GRAW is what I do best in. I do not have the code for the beta so I hope one of you can play it on justin.tv :P that would be great.

You don't need a code to try out the Beta. The Beta will be played from the Splinter Cell: Conviction disc. As long a you have a copy of that game disc, you will be able to access the multiplayer beta through an option that will show up once the Beta begins.

You can rent this game, or buy a second-hand copy if you want. New is always the best route, as some second-hand copy's can be scratched- however that is your choice.

I thought everyone new that it was delayed again I've known this for a few months but I thought people new about it. I think it's a shame that keep pushing it back I have been waiting years for this game to come out I'm sure you can all say the same. Just give us the beta and we will be fine don't you think?

lol yeah i knew it was delayed back in like June but as of like the 15th of this month it was delayed again.

Apparently now Gamestop has it as 10/1/2011 :(
