Xbox may be dead????

This morning I got up to let my son play on my Xbox. He told me the disc wasn't reading so I messed around with it and restarted it. No luck loading the game. So I decided to throw in another game. 3 games later and no luck, the games just won't load. So I am hoping that it is just a fluke and that it will work after a while. If not! It may be awhile before I am on again. ARRRGHHH!!!!

That has happend to me before, after half an hour+ of trying discs and shaking it around I got mine to work. It is really annoying.

Can't you use laserhead cleaning discs or something? This might be a good time to upgrade to a 360.

Maybe the cd drive simply went bad? I know that happened with my brother's first xbox. Cleaning and shaking it didn't help in his case, and neither did cleaning the cd's. The only games that worked oddly enough were Halo and Halo 2. The problem was the cd drive itself, something was wrong with the laser (i forget exactly what, it was a couple years ago). He could've just replaced the cd drive, but the cost to replace it was more than the xbox was worth at the time.

He has a 360 look at the card next to his name, and Im pretty sure thats what he is talking about because he said he wouldnt be online for a while if it did break.

Sorry to hear that, Roadkill. It is unfortuanetly likely that the CD drive is shot. I know someone else that had to send their's in because the drive died.

The drive is toast! They are sending the dreaded box so I can send it in to have it fixed! Arrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!!!! Luckily it is covered under the warrenty so I don't need to pay for it.
