Halo....

I have a brand new Halo disc, and when I put it in it will only let me play online games.. the campaign doesn't work...

Has anyone had this happen? Heard of it happening?

I can't return it without doing a bit of dinking around the receipt issue... so Im trying to avoid that, but not sure if thats possible!

Are you talking about Halo 3 or ODST? Either way I think you can access the Campaign by selecting any of the menu choices, then when you get to the lobby screen you can change the type to Campaign from Matchmaking or Custom Game or whatever you happen to be in.

If that doesn't help I am sorry, and I hope someone else has answer, but it's the best I can do without being able to see and play with the console myself.

Are you sure it's not ODST? Does it even give you the option of playing campaign? Or it does but just doesn't come up or work when you press A..

You put in the Halo 3 multiplayer disc that came packaged with the ODST Campaign disc when you purchased ODST, of this I'm about 99.99% positive. If it's not that you would have to look at the back of your Halo 3 disc and see if there is a huge gash running along it at which point you should return it for Halo ODST anyway because the Reach Beta is next week.

my only guess is that you have a multiplayer only disc, didn't one of those come out 2 years ago with the new maps?

If it's the normal halo3 disc it would be blatantly obvious where the single player is, main menu, says campaign lobby.

EDIT: That is of course if ODST's multiplayer only disc doesn't have ODST for the image it has halo 3. which would make sense seeing as it is the halo 3 multiplayer not ODST. So that would be my guess, if you wanted to get halo 3, looks like the store accidently gave you ODST Multiplayer disc

The ODST multiplayer disc has the same icon in the gamer card as the original halo 3 disc, to looking at that wont help any. I haven't used my halo 3 disc in forever, and as you can see in my gamer card, same old emblem.

she has the halo 3 disk, i sent it myself to her. i got the legendary edition a few months ago for 30. it came with this

since i had a copy of halo 3 already i sent her the halo 3 disk that came with that.

when she tries to play campaign it wont load up but she can play online go figure.

odst does not give u the option to play halo 3 campaign.

Try using a different hard drive if you've got one.
