Ok so you have seen the movie and you have seen the secand movie Advent childern. Well I have now played Derage of Ceribus: FFVII, and I can say with a certency that Spirits within did make sense in the long run. The game fills in the blankspots about Spirits within that they didn't convey in the movie. Once you play the game you will onderstand what I'm saying. As for the Game it's self I reccogmend you play itit was a fun and hard game to play and on top of that the extras are worth it.... That is if you can find them all.:)

What blankspots were there in FF: Sprits Within? ... I understood it perfectly.

Someone who did understand Spirits within.. most think it didn't have anything to do with any FF game.:)

lol, it's a rareity, I know. My brother and I were always confused by the people who didn't understand it. It was like, what was everyone else doing while they were watching the movie, because they obviously weren't paying attention j/k. But I guess, like all art, it's supposed to be open for interpretations and opinions, so to each his/her own.

Except for the fact that each world within a Final Fantasy game is different, that would make sense. Spirits Within =/= FFVII

True. Spirits Within was not supposed to represent FF VII or any of the other FF games. It was it's own world as is tradition with the FF series. (Excluding FF X-2 and I would think Dirge of Cerberus, but I've yet to play it.)

When did the movie not make sense? I saw the movie and have never really played any FF game (other than an hour or two at my cousins), and I understood the movie perfectly. It wasn't complex in the least.
EDIT: The movie had nothing to do with the FF series. It's been discussed over and over again. This was because Square didn't have the money to make the movie themselves, so they had to pretty much no control over the movie.
The company that did make the movie made a movie that would make money at the theater. Later, when Square had the budget for it, they make a movie the way they liked it.
Spirits within had nothing to do with any of the games. However, they may have made a game later on that was based on the first movie.

That's the point. It made perfect sense to me as well, and I assume it made sense to Demitris. However, I know a lot of people who do not understand the movie at all. Even worse than that, they are unable to pinpoint what it is they don't understand. In other words, I get the "I just don't get it." response all the time.

Well, what they keep missing is that, in a way it did have something to do with the games in a round-about fashin. But it was not a direct plot to the games it's self. If you play Derage of Ceribus you will understand what I mean. As I recall they made the point originally that Spirits within was a side story that was going to lead into a store that would be a direct plug-in to the games it's self. And that this was a movie to keep in mind as you watched Advent Childern and played Derage of Ceribus. And yes Countess I did get it right of the bat and so did my dad and he's never played any FF game. As he put it "Everyone was expceting something that was not what they made."
