It depends on which version of Zombie you are talking about. Some people compare them to Vampires, in which case only a Zombie can pass it via their saliva passing through your blood stream. In this case, you wouldn't become infected.

Other's believe that it is passed through any bodily fluid; blood, saliva, etc... If this fluid is infected with the virus, you can acquire the virus if it comes in contact with your bloodstream; usually via open wounds, mouth or eye. In this case, if you bit hard enough, caused bleeding, and came in contact with the infected blood- you would be infected as well, as the infected blood would enter your mouth.

But of course, this is a hypothesis... You still need to figure out how it is passed from the carrier.

If it's a viral origin zombie, if you break the skin and get to blood, the fluid contact will most likely make you infected.

If it's your run-of-the mill risen from the grave undead type, then chances are, you're just going to get a bad taste and rotting flesh in your mouth.

Once viruses enter your bloodstream and have spread, they are irreversible. That's what viruses do. They invade your t cells and spread fast after that..You can't just bite a zombie and turn it good...unless you have some sort of virus that mixes with this virus and both of them together make you...normal? haha

And another thing....Say the zombie that is coming at you has like half a body? or no jaw? or its guts are hangin' out? What then..how would they become normal without vital organs....hmm.... Just questions I had sorry. Anybody can answer these haha

There have been a few cases of individuals that are immune to the virus. Whether it be genetic mutations or just... well, genetics. But again... a lot of it depends on which story you believe, and again how the carrier can infect others. Those that are immune represent a small fraction of a percent of the human species. Also note that animals too can be infected.

So if you believe in the cases where there are a select few that cannot be infected and are immune; you simply need to take a sample of their blood, duplicate it, and find a vaccination.

But I wouldn't take a chance on seeing if you're immune, and I wouldn't pray on a vaccination/cure being found.

Animals become infected, but they die shortly afterwards. The virus alters humans DNA to survive on other means than normal life requirements (food, water, oxygen, etc). The virus is spread by contact, so if you bite a zombie, you may contract the virus. And you better be biting them as a last line of defense. But then again, zombies don't feel pain.
