Hello everybody. I’m a college student, and I’m working on research for a paper on the position of women in video gaming as players, characters, and creators. As part of this research, I’d like to conduct a survey of the girl gamers out there. If you could answer a couple of questions, that would help me out greatly.

1) What games are your all-time favorites?

If you want to give your reasons, that would also be helpful, but it’s not necessary. Thanks so much for your help. This looks like a pretty neat community, and I'm glad there are communities like this to dispel the stereotypes of a "girl gamer."

1) What games are your all-time favorites?
As far as recent games, the CoD series (4, W@W, and MW2), Fable 2, and L4D1 and L4D2. As far as when I was a little kiddy gamer, I loved all the classic Marios (I guess that falls current also... New Super Mario <333), Aladdin and Tiny Toons for Sega Genesis.

2) What games are you playing right now?
Mini Ninjas, MW2, WoW

1. My all time favorite would be all of Final Fantasy games. Played them on PC, PS2, and now FFXIII on PS3.

2. Now I play MW2, MAG, White Knight Chronicles, FFXIII. I love variety and all of these are my fave games right now!

1) What games are your all-time favorites?
My all-time favorite game is the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The story and characters really got me involved in the whole world of Hyrule. The puzzles weren't that hard. And the boss fights which made you utilize the new item you acquired really makes it interesting.

2) What games are you playing right now?
Currently playing Bioshock because I was too much of a coward to finish it before. I'm also playing BFBC2 but I'm not too thrilled with it and will trade it in once I finish it. I would be playing MW2 but my internet won't work with my Xbox right now. I'll also be getting the expansions for ME2 and Dragon Age: Origins once I get connected back to the internet.

1) What games are your all-time favorites?
The Zelda series. Im such a zelda fangirl lol. Ive been playing zelda ever since I could hold a controller. I love it, I love the stor(ies), I love that its a classic. My first few times playing through OOT, it was somewhat challenging with the puzzles & what not- but Ive replayed it so many times, I could probably write a walkthrough off the top of my head.

And Left 4 Dead. For obvious reasons (: Zombiessssss and I looooove VALVe.

2) What games are you playing right now?
First person shooters, L4D2, MW2, TF2, Halo 3, &tc &tc, & Some RPGs (fallout <333)

I'm currently playing Halo 3 and looking forward to the release of Halo: Reach

Why? 1. The Halo story arc is phenomenal. It was also how my friends and I bonded during college. We played LAN, so it was actually very social. Halo continues to keep me and my friends in touch.

All the Halo series.Fable 1 & 2.Assassins Creed 1 & 2.Rugby 2008 (PS2).Guitar Hero 3,World Tour,5. 1) What games are your all-time favorites?
Hmm.. Well my all-times favorites right now are definitely the COD series and other war-based games. Also I'm a fan of those hidden object games on the PC along with investigation games like CSI and uber (yes i said uber) excited for L.A. Noire! But in the passed years I was definitely a fan of the Mario games on the SNES.

2) What games are you playing right now?
Right now I am playing Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Saints Row, and a few others.

1) What games are your all-time favorites?
Pokemon just because I'm nostalgic towards it now. I played it so much when I was younger :D. Counterstrike: Source - surprisingly, I find it pretty relaxing. And its a game that's easy to play for just five minutes when you got some time before class, or for hours. World of Warcraft - I don't care what anyone says about it, just the gameplay itself is amazing if it were a single player. It's dynamics are amazing. The multiplayer is amazing though too.

2) What games are you playing right now?
World of Warcraft, Counterstrike: Source, Dragon Age: Origins (X-Box) and Darksiders (X-Box)

I've always loved Pokemon as well, I first played it at about 8 years old and I have liked it since then. The COD series has also been a favourite of mine - in particular the modern warfare games, and pretty much all of the Grand Theft Auto games.

Modern Warfare 2, Oblivion, Left 4 Dead 2. I also occasionally go back to Pokemon on Nintendo DS... I just can't help myself.

I kind of noticed that most of the females answered all time favs. were games that are more recent. I think they need to indulge in the classics. And I refuse to count Zelda, because everyone and their grandmothers loved Zelda. I'm talking about the tiny titles like Rock N' Roll Racing or Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine for Sega. Hell, I have yet to hear a Castlevania. This is blasphemy!

I grew up with Sega. Like Mortal Kombat, Streets Of Rage, Paperboy just to name a few. And I really love games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Anything that has to do with horror and killing and suspenseful. My father and older brother would alwyas play video games. I would watch them all the time. So then I picked up the controller and thats where it started.

Right now. I am playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It was made in history to be the top selling video game in the world within the first week of it's release. Bioshock 2 and a little bit of Boarderlands. That game is kinda like Fallout 3 but only more fun. Lol.
