Just wondering if anyone knows any good websites that explain how to enhance PC performance, I'm not looking for overclocking or anything hardware related.

Thanks

Well, for just products, I would start by getting ridding of viruses (download spybot and do a full scan) it's a good start!

ditto on the spybot suggestion. I think as long as you get that and use AVG, your computer will stay pretty clean. another nifty program is CCleaner. running it every few days gets rid of temp files that can slow down your pc.

Another thing is slower graphics stuff if on vista/7 right click on My computer > click on advanced options> go to the Advanced tab> click on settings button under Performance > Under visual effect click adjust for best performance and then that will take care of Areo which EATS prosses like crazy

Spybot search and destory, zone alarm(better firewall) ccleaner formerly known as crap cleaner. As far as performance what were you looking to do?

you could always try ccleaner which is a software that cleans your registry and as well as internet caches and applications and checks for bad items on the system. pretty good and free to download.

I have a couple programs that help keep my laptop clean and running nicely.

Eset NOD32 Antivirus: I love this program, it automatically scans any drives for dangers literally seconds after you plug it in, and makes it easy to delete those dangers. Very easy to use. Unfortunately it costs money to use, fortunately they have a one time payment option that I got.

CCleaner: I have this automatically run every time I boot up. It goes through all your Temporary files, Internet History, and even your Recycle Bin and deletes old, garbage files.
