Who likes/loves this bloody/mystery anime like I do? I think almost everything about it is great; the story, the characters, the funny parts... the only thing it should have had is better animation

It was a good anime with a weird twist. I personally think the animation could have been better at the time but at least the storyline had an odd unfolding and timeline which kept it interesting for me. =D

I remembr when I got to the 4th episode I was like, "...wait... what the **** just happened?! I'm at the 4th episode and THIS happens before I even get to the 25th?!" Then I saw the next episode and I was like, "...ok why are they still... *sigh* nevermind...", then it happened again on the 8th episode and I was like this neverending or something?!", but as I continued to watch I was seeing how each arc explained a part of the main idea, that's when I was completely hooked.

I made playlists of both of the seasons "When they Cry" and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai", both on youtube. I still need to see that OVA that was sent out.

As far as the animation goes, I learned to respect the style, if that artist is able to go from cute to creepy, to completely twisted, then go all the way back, they did pretty good.

I do think that the end of Shion's arc was creepier in the manga though! *shivers*

I loved how it was a mindfuck frequently, and it hits you so early on as well. The anime misses stuff that was included in the manga, that missed out stuff in the Visual Novel (VN). I'm reading the VN and I like it, though the artwork is lol

You actually get to start to understand it towards the middle of the second season, when the girl restarting time is finally introduced. I love how Rena kept trying to steal her away from the other classmates! :3

I have to say I've watched up until where Rena is the murderer in the first arc and my gosh what a lovely series, I've no understanding of anything but remedial Japanese but the "Dear You" redubbing of each arc and "mystery" is a lovely song. My only complaint is that Satoko is too freaking adorable, for such a troubled character I hate the added depth that makes me actually feel empathetic. I watch anime to see a gun that makes alien limbs explode, not cry.
