Hi everyone. Am one of those newbie types. Thought I should finally get around to properly introducing myself.
Danielle, Dee, either name works for me. Born and raised in Chicago but I caught the travel bug early and am now based in London for my anthropology masters on gender, consoles as artifacts and competitive gaming. When I was younger I used to refuse to play video games with my older sisters, only to sneak down at weird hours of the night and play all by myself when nobody could see me. I like to think I've gotten over my fear of failing in front of people, though, and can now most often be found taking up space on the Left 4 Dead 2 servers. (I <3 this game so much atm.)
I'm uber happy to finally break my silence here and am eager to meet and play with you guys. Erm, also one final note: I got a little over-excited and followed a few of you on Twitter as soon as I found you there without stopping to think how it might look. I'm terribly sorry if me following you from a privacy locked account (mine's "thelimitedshell") seemed at all creepy or off-putting! Anyone can follow me there if you're interested!
