*HELP* Anime North '10?

I need help from anyone who LOVES anime!

I am attending Anime North 2010 (anime convention in Canada) for the first time.
I am not a fan of anime, but my best friend is, and she wants me to go with her ... so I said I would.
Thing is, she wants me to dress up (Yay cosplay!)
I don't know who to dress up as ...

I was thinking perhaps, Misa Amane from Death Note ...

Any suggestions?

Since you don't watch anime, you should dress up as the ultimate cliche of girls at anime conventions... Tifa, from Final Fantasy. Easy costume though, extremely easy.

I say dress up as a Claymore, they all have the same costume so you could wear a white-blonde wig any length/style and be good :mvsmile:

Since I'm so bad with links...just type 'Claymore cosplay' in Google images.

(By the way...Claymore reminds me of PMS, they are all bad ass girls that slay demons! Demons in our case are boys).

I've wanted to go the Anime North the past 3 years.. I'd probably go as Squall (FFVIII) or Zidane (FFIX) or possibly Neji Hyuga (Naruto)

I'm going to Anime North as well!!! ♥ Maybe I'll run into you. I will be cosplaying as Ciel from Kuroshitsuji (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bunnywink/smile.gif). And I will probably be in lolita on Sunday if there is a tea party this year. ♥

If your friend is cosplaying, you should cosplay with her. Maybe a character from the same anime so that it's a "group cosplay" (that way you can pose together if people ask you for photos).

Like everyone has suggested, Misa or Tifa are very easily done... But they are rather overdone if you ask me. There's a million of them every year. I would go for a more recent anime anyway... Maybe K-ON!! since it's rather new and popular.

I would've gone as Mio (black haired girl) if I didn't already have something else. But I think you would make a great Yui (brunette with the bangs/fringe) judging from your profile pics!

I been pondering whether ima be going to Anime North or not... still havent decided my mind. but if i go i might be going with eather just my simple Bat-Suit (hoddie from pic and the gloves) or if i decide early enough ill be making and going as the Scorpio Knight

but for your cosplay, if you want something easy... then id suggest Athena from Saint Seiya... all the costume needs is a purple wig, a white dress and a staff (with that logo on top of it which can be done quickly with cardboard) and done!
