If you were at a school assembly and a teacher was giving lap dances would you fire them yes or no?

umm.. very touchy subject.. but was it a joke or for real? joking is fun and all but there are limits, but if anything she shouldn't be fired. maybe temporarily suspended. but if she was gettin down n dirty and wild... i'm pretty sure she'd be gone.

It looked like a male teacher was giving a female teacher a lap dance. My eyes may deceive me though. I agree with a temporary suspension and a note on their file. Being fired? No.

it was 2 teachers a male teacher and female teacher

The story made it sound really bad, but after watching the video I would say no to being fired, it didn't look that bad to me. I've seen worse from kids in junior high.

Agreed, the story blows it out of proportion. The "simulating oral sex" was the briefest of moments and I could barely tell it happened. And yes, a lot worse goes on between at junior high dances, but no one addresses the issue.

lol i saw that on CNN as well... i was flipping through and saw the vid playing i was like "man wtf?". idk it was blown out of proportion with the news people but then again a teacher is supposed to be a figure of authority in a school and not someone who looks like after school her/his second job requires them to be called "cinnamon". it wasnt that bad and like oh malley said theres worse stuff going on in school dances but yet nothing is done about it... conspiracy?

i have to disagree with you all. They should be fired. The oral simulation was exactly that. Teachers should not be acting this way in front of students at all. Period.

Fired? No.
Teachers were supposed to be authority back before the 70s. In todays world, a teachers role is not authority anymore, it's an educator. The teachers were having fun, this is 9th to 12th graders, they have seen MUCH MUCH worse.
The dances some of these 12 and 13 year olds do are ALOT worse then what that teacher did.

It was very graphic and highly suggestive, absolutely not appropriate behavior, especially in school. They should be fired, immediately.

At my old high school we would have jumped out there with them and started a dance party. I don't think they should have gotten fired. Maybe a suspension, but nothing more.

Ok so when you say people seen far worse in high school not everyone else yes parts of it could be ok no the oral simulating part. and u say it was only a sec but when u saw the video right when he did it u knew exactly what it was. so im saying guy should be fired for taking to far. or a year suspension atleast without pay

Shoot, I thought it was pretty cool. They shouldn't recieve any type of punishment, I mean they were fully clothed and there was barley any grinding. The only thing I believe they should get is a verbal warning.
P.S. Was I the only one to 'LOL' at the vid's title: "2 Teachers 1 Chair"?

fired. no doubt. they arent paid to teach our kids how to lap dance.
teachers are suppose to be role models to students, they should have thought this thoroughly before acting out.

fyi things are done a little bit differently up here (in canada), we dont make kerfafful out of incidences such as this. We normaly just say wow, laugh and move on. I had a teacher who was charged for molestation, he was fired, but it didnt even make headlines. so seeing something like this in the news is odd

How did this assembly come about in the first place? There's got to be somebody who knew this wasn't going to be gym class and that they didn't have anything to say to the audience. When I was that age I saw way worse.
Suspension at the worst.

its a pep rally, we have them like near the end of the school year, we have a funny fashion show, talent show, some schools do a carnival, and the teachers normally pul some skit together

It's a shame that we expect it of the students and choose to do nothing about it though. It may hit an entertainment news show every now and then, but then we do nothing and accept it as normal behavior. At least when teachers do something inappropriate there's action taken. At least something was done.

I think if they get fired it's understandable. There is a code of conduct to be followed as a teacher, and also policies.
The grinding was way to much. Maybe they were just two young teachers who had the hots for each other, and forgot there place.
In front of kids though is unnecessary.

So I believe that president Bush, Clinton and Obama should have never of been elected cause they have tried drugs, have gotten drunk, some have cheated on tests in college.
No one is perfect in this world, despite who a person is, no one is perfect. People made such a big deal of Tiger Woods getting some *extra* on the side...he's a famous sports figure..if I were him I might have done it too.
One of the schools I went to a teacher was caught having an affair with another teacher in the Home Ec room. They weren't fired, but were suspended for a little while..it never made news...it was the best rumor in the school, then again it was a small school.
I don't expect people to be perfect if I am not perfect...and trust me...I am still pretty sheltered, but I have tried weed, gotten drunk, messed around, did the same stuff that celebrities do, and they get in trouble for it like they are more human than we are...People need to get over the fact that no human is better than they are...we are all equal despite money/race/culture/history/decisions. We bleed red, we all die, and we all make stupid choices...those stupid choices help us learn as mankind progresses.
Maybe we could show statistically that abstinence taught in school rarely works, and that "Safe Sex" should be emphasized more...I was lucky, in my school the Health teachers taught more about safe sex than abstinence...we only had maybe 30 pregnant students at our school and at that time the school I was at had 3000 students.

I don't think so...its like comparing Porn to being in a strip club...very close. I've been to party's and have seen worse go on right in the middle of a room. But then again...shelter'd people don't see how strange, and interesting the world is...just like foreign commercials...some are very sexual, and in other countries actions like this aren't as frowned upon as others.
I have to agree, worse goes on at school dances...they were also clothed.

I have kids and when they go to school that is not what i want my kids to be taught and they were close enough to having sex with there cloths on....i mean really you don't put your mouth down toward a private part in front of a bunch of students and say GREAT FRIGGIN SHOW AWESOME you should be teachers of the year!! if i wanna see that type of action i will go to a booby bar ok...its cool the teachers were showing they can have fun but it is there job to also set a good example if it were outside their job then hey its more power to you!!

Fact of the matter is that laws/rules/etiquette/etc. are typically created for the lowest common denominator. In this situation where some or most of the students may know or have done worse, there are those who do not know or have not done worse. It's the protection of those with which they are to be judged. So saying that a lot of kids already know about sex, have done worse at a school dance, etc. should not be allowed as placating reasons for non-termination. Just because some do, doesn't mean all do. And if you have emotionally/psychologically/mentally affected those kids who don't know... well how do you determine that a suspension is enough? It's not like the kids can take a little time off and forget that ever happened. That's forever in their minds now. There is no undo.
The idea that they should be suspended and not terminated to me doesn't necessarily fit the crime. Let's put it this way... take it into a workplace. The two teachers are the employees. The children are the client. And the school board is upper management. If the two employees were to do something like that while conducting business in front of a client, upper management would have grounds to terminate. And human resources following employment law would have the legal backing to press the termination. Now take it back to middle school/high school students. Are our children not worth more than some client? So if I can be fired for doing something like that in a traditional workplace setting, why wouldn't it be even MORE imperative that I should be fired for doing something like that in front of kids?
Look, I'm all for forgiveness. But there has to also be justice. Appropriate punishments. That's what our legal system is supposed to do. You can't expect NOT to be fired in a workplace... so why is it ok to just be suspended because they're teachers at a school?
