I was wondering if there was a way to figure out what type of RAM is compatible with a computer. The stuff that's in there is PC2700. I'd like to switch it out for more, but I have no idea what's compatible with it. Worse comes to worse I'd get more PC2700.
Well it really depends on your motherboard, and what type of RAM it will support. Also to determine if you'll have value from faster RAM let us know the CPU you have. Like an AMD Athlon 2400+ won't benefit from PC3200 because the FSB is clocked at...133mhz stock i think.
Most of the time higher speed RAM will underclock for ya with no problem, so if you were to buy DDRI memory there's a high likelihood it will work without too much issue, but I'd suggest letting us know the other info (mobo and CPU). You can't get DDRII or the old SDRAM or RDRAM, but thats fine DDRI is relatively cheap compared to the others. PC 2700 or PC3200 are your most likely bets.

For your system you can use 2 x 184-pin DIMMs which is can be anywhere from DDR SDRams 333,266,200 with a 2.5v rating. You can only have up to 2GB for your motherboard.
