well, i was going to get 2 at launch, sell one on ebay for 2-3 grand, and give the rest of the money to my mom. but, now i'm going to go visit someone, so i am just gonna have to wait and play it at my friends house.

been savin. plus, selling one of them will easily make up for like 4 at the least. so, hopefully with the extra, i could get a nice big monitor with HDMI, plus some surround sound or somethin. to enhance my ps3 experience.

I will be camping out for 3 days to get mine. Along with 3 others members from our clan. One is flying in from Cali to PA to camp out with us. Gonna be cold though, buts thats what the generator,tent, and heaters are for. Boredom? Thats the only reason i can see to buy GOW so i can play it while waiting in line. My girlfriend and little sister are camping as well so i can sell the extra 2 systems and upgrade from my crappy 60" Tv to an imported 100" :-)

I'd say not buying because I'm not getting it for only MGS (Armored Core is the other game I would play but it is going to 360 also), other than that game I don't care for playstation at all.

thats one of the reasons i CAN't buy one is cus, it cost to much, and i still have to pay off to many bills:( but... what happens if it does fail and dies.... that would mean square enix would have to join microsoft, and all of my favorite games would come to my 360:D that would rock

Originally the plan was to get 1 for myself and 1 for Psyche FD (aka PerfectDark PMS) but eventually when we saw the launch tittles as well as Sonys plan for there online community we changed our mind very quickly and instead were gonna get Wii's instead.

Price wise i could care less if the Ps3 is $600 or $300 it's about the launch as welll as there plans for future relases and nothing has caught my eye yet

hmm, if my memory is correct Nero was a roman emporor. and whats with the lamo thing dude, your starting to sound like a fanboy. and ya in games with storylines ps3 will be better cus they got all the heavy hitters on thier side, such as enix. but since they already brought FF11 to 360, maybe they'll bring more to 360. but what i have to say is dum, is out of those 70 games being made in japan, 50 are excluse, which blows, becuase a really good anime game they are making called Zegapain i think i only going to be in japan:( :( ,but what i like about the ps3 is that it won't be like pal, or nstc, or something like that, you'll be able to play games from japan, europe and NA all on the same ps3, unlike other systems where you gotta have the right region type, such as in europe they have pal.

I will only get a Ps3 for profiting that's mainly it, buy like 2 and sell them to pay off loans. Easy enough, Sony has really went to crap in my opinion, overpricing all of their products, when most of them suck. All you are doing is paying for a name, and that name isn't worth crap. Most of the games I want will come out for 360 or the pc sooner or later, so I am not in a rush to play them, expect for AC4. I really need to play that and own all. >.>

My advice for anyone going to buy a ps3, just wait... I overheard a rumor about the price of the games. That most of the ps3 games, since they are blueray, will cost around 80-84 dollars. Yeah, since this is only a rumor you shouldn't pay to much into it, until the launch of the system. But if that's the real price for the games, there is no reason to buy that system.

i say it will surpass it in that area, because ps2 surpassed the xbox in that area. sony will always have the japanese style games, which in my opinion are way better than any story game that the u.s. can think of. plus if you just look at all the 360 games so far, the longest one is probably enchanted arms or oblivion. every other game is like 5-7 hours single player. and that doesn't fulfill me.

mgs4 and dmc4 in particular will most likely have an awesome story, and just from the tgs vids they already look better than any 360 game, and they still have a year left for development. sony hasn't really overpriced anything, i find it funny when people say that, the hardware is more powerful than the 360's. and the blue-ray is amazing. 360's add-on HD is 199. which, is 599 if i put my math straight. oh and the 599 ps3 also comes with wifi, that's another 99 dollar add-on for the 360. sure microsoft wants you to have your own "choice" but still, your losing in the long run =]

Good luck trying to get one, i talked to the manager at the EB Games, he's a friend of my sister, and he said, they will maybe get one in. That will be the same, for almost all the stores, they aren't releasing enough of them on release day, to give everyone a valid chance at getting it. And ontop of that, he said they won't even be taking pre-orders, he guesses there is going to be a program that they do, where you have to trade in your ps2, and a bunch of games and stuff, to be able to get it.

If you have to excuse a product because it was just released, due to flaws that are blaringly obvious in face of the competition that means it either a) was released before it was fully ready or b) it is a flawed product in light of the competition.

That doesnt mean that it is doomed to be like that forever. However if you dont judge something by the here and now, theres no point in judging it ever. Moreover, If you cant judge a product, how can you justify purchasing it? Let me sell you a rock and tell you how one day you'll find truck loads of fun and enjoyment out of it.. remember, dont judge it yet as it hasnt reached its potential. Oh by the way, that rock will cost you $1,000. Blind faith and avoiding reality of thigs get you nowhere. But as they say, ignorance is bliss, eh?

I don't think I am going to buy the PS3 any time soon, mostly because of the price. Also there not even in stores around here anymore. Each store got like 5 of them in early December now there's none. The only ones you can buy are from people reselling them for twice the price. I am quite happy with my PS2 right now and don't see a upgrade any time soon.

I bought one first day for 2 reasons.

Reason 1: My PS2 broke down 21 days before launch so I decided this was the best choice. I can't be havin no PS2 that would suck!

Reason 2: I love the japanese games on any PlayStation console...even the ones I can't read. Most are very fun to play.

I voted yes, so i have them all and can brag about it :) but mostly I bought all of them because I'm an all around Gamer. There are games that I want to play that's only for the PlayStation, Games that I want to play for the Xbox360, and Games that I want to play for the Nintendo Wii. Also the hand held ones too :P

Any Multi-Platform games I'll play on the PlayStation since I'm more used to their controllers than any other system.

ya, i like that format thing to, pretty cool eh. but ya know something, for awhile i thought only a few were actually going to wait for the price to drop, but i guess alot of people are waitting for that to happen, like the other day i wne to my nearest city brandon and the wal-mart and EB-games, all still had their PS3 in stock and they had orderd more becuase they thought it would be sold out on the first day. and i asked the guy at ebgames and walmar and they told me that very few of them sold, like 5 or 8, and now, wal-mart is like jam-packed with ps3s, they got like 10 of them behinde the glass, and no one is buying them becuse of the price, but the Wii, wow its like sold out every where i go, becuse it is way cheeper. maybe in america its differant, but where i am its just like i said. i sure hope they do drop the price. Blazing Angels 360 $20, yes $20 not $60... I picked it up at Bestbuy a few days ago, with all the xbox live support you can come to expect from the 360.

I like to think that I am a fan of video games in general; I have played enough PC/360/PS2/Nintendo titles to have a broader viewpoint. But bottom line, Playstation "fanboys" are standing on thin ice.

I think by next Christmas the PS3 should be worth buying (unless the price goes UP again), but until then I believe this is a one sided argument.

However, in the PS3's defense, many would say the 360 wasn't worth buying until this Christmas.

The Wii, on the other hand, is in a league of it's own. It's still selling like crazy, and Nintendo has taken a huge step in a different (not opposite or wrong) from Microsoft or Sony basically putting them in a league of their own.

I dont regret getting my PS3 at all. I have faith in the Sony brand, and there is plenty of good stuff coming down the pipe to keep me satisfied on the "gen-now" front. I never had a PS2 so I am enjoying all of those older games I never got to play, and a $500 Blu-Ray player is a pretty good deal to boot.
