every one...i have just heard a devastating report of the ps3 online....they are going to make it
a seperate payment for each game, just like FF11 so for each game that mean you have to pay a fee. its then kindda like xbox live silver but theres no gold, just imagen how many fees you would have to pay just to play serten games online....this blows. this mean ps3 would meanly be offline. and i can tell you right now, parants would never want to pay so much just so their kids can play online.

This would actually fit with Sony's views of online console play. They saw it as only a 10% attach rate for online which is extremely low and they had no indications that they would change their view of it. Even when told that XBL on 360 had a huge 60% attach rate they just stared and wondered why they should care. I would be surprised if they did anything free with online unless they themselves were to see a high attach rate in this generation coming.

-you get bored of the game and you try to sell it away
your friend buys it from you, puts it in his console and want to play it online

1. You buy the game for full price, put it in your system, and are registered as the original owner of the disc, with full rights to the software on it.
2. After you play the game for few months, you become tired of it.

4. He decides he likes the game so much, he wants to pay for the rights to play the "full" game. said like a true fanboy. its not just about japan, its about "every one" and there is a huge amount of people that love the online feature. what i heard about the online thing was that the companys want a fee like FF11 for each game, and that each game will have its own online launch screen, like FF11. well thats what i heard. but if thats the case, that will make most people say either they won't buy it, or that they buy it but it will only be an offline system to them. cus imagen if you have like 10 or more games and they each have there own online price, and they are like 8 dollor a month.... that would be then over 80 dollors a month! thats mad. though im not sure if the info is true, i'll have to ask my bro when he's back from work, then i'll tel you were he got the info, and if its true.

thats actualy true, back in the day of E3 for the ps2 they already promessed the internet browsing, emailing etc and it NEVER HAPPEND, but the dreamcast did.
and they already lied about the ps3's capabliates, as some video trailers have shown.

from what I gather

Playstation Network = Xbox Live Silver

So the PSN supports profiles, "entitlements", messaging, voice chat, etc. "feature for feature" Xbox Live (silver)

Sony doesn't offer any "Gold" level service... that is left up to the developers themselves who can then choose to use Gamespy, XFire, etc. etc. etc. It also means they can charge whatever they want on a game by game basis.

IMO this means that most PS3 games WONT support online multi player (because publishers wont want to front the cash to run the servers) the games that do support online multi player will either have a monthly fee or lackluster support (just like the PS2).

Of course this is smart MARKETING move on Sony's part because "Playstation Network is free" but they conveniently leave out the part about not offering online multi player themselves and many that play the games where the publisher is footing the server bill will assume that they're really playing on the Playstation Network.

NOTE he is a mod at that site. so i wouldent think that he would lie, i mean he has a good reputation. but thats where i got the scoop. if you don't want to belive, meh thats up to you.

Though, from past examples I woudlnt be surprised if Sony left online hosting to the Publishers/Developers to work out. They'll offer the front end via the PS3 interface. Everything else is up to the game provider. Sony will just want to cash in on any micro-transaction goodness.

I'm personally quite worried about ps3's online. I always have been. They're way too silent about a feature that is crutial to the ability to compete with x360 in both North America and Europe (who will buy game x for ps3 when its out on x360 with online as a bonus? Games are where these companies make money, not the system... and the chunk of multi-playform owners is growing daily.) The fact that Tony Hawk and Virtua Tennis have officially dropped online for the Ps3 versions doesnt bode well and speaks volumes of the working relationship developers have with Sony concerning online implementation. Google for the proof if you desire it.

With that said, its still very much up in the air. Hands down its obvious it wont be as strong as Xbox Live, as live has had 4+ years to mature. Anyone who expects it to be head to head with the Xbox Live service needs to re-evaluate their expectations.
