i just saw on the new about the man who did the shootings on dawson collage, when i first heard it on the radio i thought it could have been my cosen, she is going to collage around there. This is just tarrible.. why would some one dod that, i still ask that question, is it because they had no friends or the video games. i think we should have a police officer in every school, or at least a secturity guard, that why it would be a little bit safer. i hope the ones in the hospital make it.

I guess I should check the news, cuz I haven't heard of this yet.
Most schools have at least two security guards these days, just because of the chance that someone might do something stupid. But, it still doesn't help as much as its needed.
Its never about the videogames. Kids and parents blame videogames for their source of violence because they can't take the blame on their own shoulders. Humans are naturally and instinctly aggressive, and some people just don't know how to retain that raw emotion.

I live about 20 minutes away from it (it's downtown where I live), and I know a lot of people that go to that school. There's a police station not even 3 minutes away from the college. The police response was incredibly quick. They got there and within minutes the guy was dead. Unfortunately those couple minutes were enough to injure others and critically wound (wounds that would eventually kill) at least one person that I know of.
There were also rumors of a second (and third) suspect, which made the cops job even harder. They had to then search every nook and cranny of the huge building to make sure the rumors weren't true.
The cops did their job amazingly well and because of it casualties were kept to a bare minimum. Unfortunately this wasn't good enough. Like I said at least one person died (other than the person who deserved it).
He has a vampirefreaks website (mentioned in the local newpaper), with a little research This is found. (http://vampirefreaks.com/u/fatality666)
He didn't go to school, had no job, no friends, so he stay in his mom's basement and played videogames and stuff all day.
The sad thing is he's getting exactly what he wants. Apparently (according to newpapers and such) he wanted to be shot, and he wanted people to talk about him.
I would rather he lived, so he can rot in jail for the rest of eternity.

I heard about it on the news the other day. The reason the police got there so quick was because they were already going there to investigate an unrelated drug thing. It's a very sad and tragic thing that happened. There's so much death in the news and it's depressing :(
RIP to those that were lost.

Well I didn't hear about the drug thing, but there's a police station about a block away. The quick response minimized the casualties. Only one victim lost their life. Her name was Anastasia DeSousa (http://news.sympatico.msn.cbc.ca/Friends+remember+Anastasia+DeSousa+at+prayer+vigil/Local/QC/ContentPosting.aspx?isfa=1&newsitemid=montreal-qc-vigil&feedname=CBC_LOCALNEWS&show=True&number=5&showbyline=True&subtitle=&detect=&abc=abc).
The shooter was then soon wounded by police fire and then took his own life.

Combined with that shooting (which killed a friend of mine), there was a mercury spill and a gangfight all in the course of maybe a month. Also, I'm not racist, but me and my brother were the only white guys there.. and its unconfortable because it was a bad neighborhood, and other people 'were' racist against us.
This was my first civilian and/or public school. Usually I had always went to school on-base under the Department of Defense. So at the time it just wasn't worth it to continue, and I went for a GED instead.
