I attended this conference. Extremely useful for people looking to break into the games industry and vetrans too. Plus, it's a great source for networking.

Primarily it focused on work life balance. There were a lot of panels discussing how people new to the games industry tend to dive in and want to "put in the hours" but how working to long can have more of a negative effect. There was a lot of good information on how to prevent fires rather than put them out by developing processes and understanding work pipelines. Also, a lot on how to attract more women into game development and get more diversity into companies. They also gave out game developer magazines that listed job opportunities in the games industry. They talked about communication and how to open those lines up with management.
They discussed a lot about networking and how important it is. They gave mention to finding mentors and people you can have around as support and have a teaching exchange with.
They had roundtable conversations after that......
where you could go talk with other people in the industry, exchange cards....make friends ;)
Over all I had a blast and found it extremely beneficial. I would recommend it to anyone who has the chance to attend next year.

Hope this is what you were looking for

Yeh that seemed like it would be cool to attend. It seemed like is was very informative and professional too :)

But that is a good question tho. I mean what does it takes to get more diversity in the gaming community. Like i tried to get my mom to play and it was like teaching a three year old to drive. hahaha but thinking about how to get more women gamers into the community is a question I would like to know answered. I mean I started playing video games when I was little so I wander what it takes to get more women gamers into this industry....

And yes this is what i was looking for thx for the info!!!
