So, I used to have Photoshop and I was awesome with it. I made websites and everything (just for fun.) But after reformatting my comp. a long time ago and getting work done on it, I don't have it anymore. The only reason I had it is my dad put it on my comp. but I don't even think his copy was legit. I would really love to be able to make graphics again (sigs, etc) but don't have anything to do that. What programs do you guys use? I wouldn't even mind paying but photoshop is too expensive.

buy a ps6/ps7 bundle over amazon. This is a cheap solution for your business. I also use to do my GFX with a bought PS7 bundle. PS7 has all you need :)

Those of you who's running Windows would want "The Gimp For Windows", download it from this site:

photo editing software that was originally for linux but expanded on to other platforms. It's free because it is open source software.

Yes gimp is a very good program. It has almost everything you need on an intermediate lvl to create graphics =) You just have to take the time to learn how to use it.

He wasn't saying that Gimp was better then Photoshop, just that its free and very effective for being free. In comparison though, I'd have to agree that gimp is pretty.. gimp.. (LOL SEE WHAT I DID THERE?)

Photoshop > Gimp srry.
of course ps is going to be better than gimp
adobe isn't going to put out software for hundreds of dollars if gimp is going to be equal to or better.
but really just about anything is free nowadays.

Actually there was a site called gimp-art that basically outweighed most photoshop work i've ever seen. I don't the think site is still up but the digital paintings were amazing.
You can get photoshop for a few hundred dollars cheaper going through an academic website.
old thread but do photoshop tutorials work for gimp? if not does anyone have any tutorials for gimp?
Please do not bump extremely old threads.
No, photoshop tutorials generally do not work for GIMP.
