I can wait like 5 more years... gaming has become very boring lately. I'd rather is take as long as it can. I don't want to be all wrapped up in that crizap.

Makes perfect sense ;)

Anyways, I've heard speculations of an March/April '07 release for Halo 3, and I woudn't be surprised - Bungie have already said that development is going well, and if Microsoft can have one of their most well-known franchises ready to battle the PS3 in Europe, I think they will be putting a little extra effort into making this release come true ;)

i want bungie to spend as much time as possible on it, so they don't F up the ending storyline.

the multiplayer is already F'd though. there's no bringing it back up, downhill is probably all it's gonna go.

but me being a halo freak (halo1 anyways), i have to get it for the ending of the story.

Uhh i have to say i am a halo freak to but i have read the books so i already know how its going to go. but the multi player i thought was great in halo2 i mean cept for all the different way someone can cheat in a game which has drove many ppl to stop plain ranked games but me i see it as a challenge to shoot someone outside the lvl it just makes me laugh how when ppl cheat they can`t even kill me. ok that was off subj. but im sure halo 3 will take alot of the mods and gliches off and the mulit player might have even better features soi agree let them take their time so they can make the ultimate gaming experience for the 360.

....you obviously haven't read the books.

Book one, The Fall of Reach. is about recruiting the children for the spartans.and about reach falling to covenant hands.

Book two, The Flood. is about the Halo, basically, it's the book about the game. and is told also at the perspective of the covenant, following the grunt named YaYap. and the elite, but i forget his name.

Book three, First Strike. is about after Halo's destruction, and MC trying to stop the Covenant Armada from going to Earth.

Halo 3 is not part of any of those books, also for that matter, neither is Halo 2. so you don't truely know what's going to happen. i can pretty much guarantee MC dies. but w/e.

IMO, halo2 multiplayer is a failure, the only good part is the party system, and the message system. the weapon "balance" system is just godawful. halo1 however, now there is a good multiplayer game.

i will give bungie the benefit of the doubt. in which halo3 could be good, it could redeem the halo name. also imo, the multiplayer isn't what i'm looking for in this game, it's the final installment of an amazing trilogy, i want the story to just blow me away, give me chills, like the first game.

YEah, but is HAlo 1 Online(aside from PC) Halo 2 did and still does so much , sets such a high standard for XBL-even on 360. As far as Halo 3 not being a part of the books....read again. Even if you're too narrow minded to see, the references are there. And lets just say, people cant see these, it all ties in. You are one of those picky people who only sees the bad in a situation.Yes I agree, HAlo 2 had its problems and yes the weapon balance is bad, but it doesnt take away from what it is. Dont beleive me? Halo2 is still the most played game on XBL. It has its downfalls but it is a great game and still a lot of fun online. How many other good online FPS or there aside from the same WW2 crap? Are u Just mad that u can`t kill anyone online? plz answer this one question and if u want to take me on my gt is Lone Plaisance

actually, yes halo1 is online. XBC (http://www.xbconnect.com/). free online service. yes i agree, halo2 is the most played online game, but mainly for the fact of the party system, that's really the only reason i am on it. pretty much everyone i know hates the game, but they stay on it because it's fun to just sit in parties and talk. and you just said right there, that the 360 is nothing. lol, a high standard, even on the 360, shows how good 360 games are

read again? i have read each one twice at least. and i'm pretty damn sure that neither halo2, nor halo3 are in the books. read the epilogue of First Strike. it's the exact start of halo2. are you serioius? here.

The prophet held up one claw, indicating silence. Tartarus halted midsyllable. "A regrettable turn of events," the prophet sadi, "but in the end, only an insignificant setback. Have the ships that are battle ready rendezvous with us at the site of the cataclysm."
"and what of the incompetent, High One? The one who lost ascendant justice?" (the gold elite at the beginning of halo2.)
"bring him before the Council. let his fate match the magnitude of his failure."

there ya go, the beginning of halo2, is just mentioned in the very end of the last book. there is no "references" there. unless you are going of speculation that the other spartans are going to show up. of course they tie in. it's a trilogy of books, i'm pretty sure they aren't just gonna be random nothings

i am only seeing the bad? did you read my post at all? you don't even know who i am lol. i said, "the party and message system is good" that isn't looking on the bad side.

did you just seriously call me bad? you seriously just said i hate the game because i can't "kill anyone" that is the dumbest, and most immature thing i have heard from someone, and then you challenge me? lol.

i merely stated my opinion, and you blew it waaaay out of proportion, like i was talking to you personally. my opinion is what it is. lol wow.

and if you truely want to "play me" then send me a fr. ZiiTcH.
old Gamertag is H2o Skywalker, look it up ;)

Yes I understand that your opinion is yours. But to bash a game because of minor issues issues isnt fair. And yes I agree 360 online games is not the best right now. DOA4, PDZ, GRAW,and Halo2...thats about it. But everything in the books, ties into all the games. Its all connected whether its obvious or not. Like i said I agree Halo 2 has its probems but its still one of the best ever. Im not trying to attack you personally, I just dont ike bashing a game for shortcomings especiay when said game was so successful. Its why I hate reviewers and magazines and review shows. A true gamer appreciates a game for what it is, and while we do hope things will be better next time, a real gamer, one who appreciates all games regardless of problems and looks at what matters.....whether or not its fun to play. And I know some will argue balance issues make Halo 2 unfun, but in my opinion it is the best. Oh and by Halo 1 online I meant Xbox Live with no mods or special addons....straight outta the box xbox live compatiable. Though the PC version is great. No harm meant and honestly you are a great debater :D

grr im confused

H2O SkywalkerX
09-12-2006, 03:54 PM
i'm bashing it because the step from halo1, to halo2 was so bad. and they hype on the game was huge.

ugh, of course the books tie in with the games, the books are based on the game  they weren't going to create a whole new story. that's so obvious, but by saying that you already know what's gonna happen because you read the books is dumb, there is nothing from the books that you could say is going to happen in halo3. they could have the spartans jump in, which would be amazing. i know that is a possibility. imo halo2 is not the best ever, w/e the best is. it was so successful because it was an easy game to play. not because it was good. there are 5 year olds on the game for god sakes.

trust me, i am a "true" gamer. a "true" gamer does not have to like every game. a "true" gamer plays the games that are he or she likes. that's what makes him or her a gamer. not playing every game just because everyone else plays it. hell i could be called a gamer and never touch an fps.

you did mean that, but it's still online, and it doesnt necessarily have mod's, and it doesn't have any "special" addons.

grr i'm done with this. i already put in my point. which obviously you aren't going to get. so i'll read your next post, if you do post, but i'm not gonna post back.

ziltch is right. Halo2<Halo1

there are a bunch of downfalls to the multiplayer
-Increased auto aim & magnetics
-Weapon balance
-dual wielding
-respawn points
-melee lunge
-0% shot leading (ties with autoaim at close distance)
-cloak is somewhat more noticable (not a huge disimprovement)
-no fall damage
-rocket lock on feature
-sweep sniping
probably some more, but thats all I can think of off the top of my head.
Autoaim imo being the absolute biggest downfall of the game.

I dont remember how I came upon this video but it def hits the highlights of the major differences.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5686749167043317758

there were some improvements in the game such as.
-being able to always find a game in at least one game setting (matchmaking)
-it is visually better looking
-being able to communicate verbally with teammates
-and shorter grenade explosions
although these improvements didn't have a profound effect on gameplay they were nice.

halo1 was accessible online through xbc and some other programs you just had to download the 10mb file.

and for the cheating, who cares. It's just a level which speaks nothing as to how much skill you actually posess pertaining to a certain gametype. If you get cheated you just quit the game and start a new one.

I think T2 had to have said it best when he said,
"you can't win against bad kids"
which is sooo true, its scary.

I never got involved into the storyline so I have no input as to how the ending will play out.

LALALALALALALA I can't hear you! I'm not going to say anything I'm not going to say anything...

Resist the urge..Resist the urge..Resist the urge..

Halo sucks.. Sorry that just slipped out!

Well the cat's out of the bag now... I might as well go on..

Halo's popular, yes. However, it's popular only because it's easy. Anyone can pick it up and play it. Heck my 7 year old cousin has started to play pretty regularly and is pretty good. If the game posed any challenge at all, it wouldn't be half as popular as it is now.

The most skill the game takes is good hand eye co-ordination and the knowledge that rockets go boom. EDIT: If you can color inside the lines, you can play Halo.

To me the only good point it has is the story line. It's interesting, but once I finish the single player it's gone.

so true. i already said that. i have met a clan full of just 5-7 year old kids. like wtf?

it's easy, therefore, it appeals to everyone, so everyone gets it, that is why it was a "success"
