Love Is A Game.

Love is a game,
played fair or not.

You get pulled side to side,
in and out,
turned upsidedown,
and all around.

Some play fair,
those games you both win.

Some not so fair,
heartbreaking but true.
You find out things,
you never knew.

You try so hard to learn the game,
when everyday the rules never,
stay the same.

You get tricked and cheated,
sometimes lied to.
Tricks and lies,
you hoped never happened to you.

Rules of the game,
play smart, play fair.

Dont ever take a dare.

Chances are allowed,
but please be aware.

Take chances on who you want,
but make sure you know them.
Dont throw it all away,
on just some old someone.

It doesnt matter how long youve known them,
or you think you did anyways.

Wrather it be a day,
a week, a month,
a year.
It can always end in sadness and tears.

This poem was written for the guy I will always love,
now and forever. :(

Oh boy that was touching, and err made me tearful...doesnt help when something similar in the words used has happened to me...I emm take it your heart has been broken yet you still love this guy?:(

Yes you would be correct.
He has broken my heart many of times and I still love him but I dont know why.

That kind of love for someone is extremely bad and it can only lead to depression...to be used or to be hurt and to still love someone that much is dangerous imo.

The heart is very strange and can conflict with the mind which leads to worryness, sadness and misery...if you cannot let go of the person that hurts you so yet you still love him I feel sad for you, you deserve better :(

I know im the only one to blame for the way I feel and for my heart being broken but I have loved this person for about 2 years now ive tried to get rid of my feelings and move on but I dont know why I cant.
I wish I could.
Ive tried not talking to him at all I cut myself off from him for a while but we still end up talking again.
Ive tried constantly being sorrounded by friends talking, drawing anything but nothing works it all just somehow leads back to him.

I know a girl that is in a similar position but unless another guy comes along to whom your heart can jump and say 'HIM HIM HIM!!' then you may be in your current sistuation for a while sorry to say...

Its as hard for you as its hard for me to move along but I do eventually...Wonder what would happen IF I were to ever be in an actual relationship :-S

The only thing that makes me happy is my HDTV, Xbox 360 Premium and my games including Enchanted Arms...lol!

I don't look in this area much - but its a very touching poem. Good work.

As for the inspiration for the prose - all I can say is at some point you have to deciede you want to be happy and move on. Happiness comes from with - and heart jumping to the next will only transfer the problem. You have to be happy with who you are before others may see you in that light. Its hard and sometimes takes a while - but time and distance are the best cures.

Contunied contact only gets in the way of the healing and moving on. Also I see the line in your sig about heart break - and sy giving your heart to someone is a major thing - if they treat it poorly - then they suck and its time to move on.
