Ok I was playing CODWAW and my xbox was working perfectly fine well then I was gonna go eat dinner and I turned off my xbox and then I come back upstairs and it won't turn back on....I unplugged and replugged everything back up, I used a different outlet, a different powerstrip, called xbox customer support, I tried everything I could think of and I'm trying to avoid having to ship it out so does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix it.

Was it storming my xbox got hit by lightning and from that i looked online to find its common for computers and xbox/ps to get hit through ethernet. So that's a possibility.

the weather is perfectly fine here, it could have possibly overheated but its just weird how it happened because it didn't show any signs that it was breaking.

you can do the towel trick..if its red ringing and your going to send it back..youll get to play for a bit while you wait to ship it atleast.....or you can fix it yourself, but thats kinda high on the tech savvy level...atleast its within warranty...
and hey, the failure rate for the 360 is 54.2 percent..sooo 1 out of 2 times it will happen, so the next one hopefully should be fine (according to statistics)

The jasper model actually has a 1% failure rate I believe, so if she managed to get one of those the chances of it overheating or RRoD'ing are extremely slim.
Other than that, I couldn't advise much more than to check out the other tips, other guys have posted :)

The towel trick is probably the worst idea ever. It fries your chip, and even screws you harder in the long run. My advice would just try to find another solution or just call xbox support again.

Try turning it on with a friends power supply first because if that's the case you can get one kinda cheap at gamestop.

Sorry Cynik but I had to laugh at this because I just sent in my 2nd xbox with RROD. The first was sent in right after the halo 3 release. The one I just sent in was made in Sept. 07. So I have to kinda disagree with the statistics.

Ok my xbox is fixed, one of usb ports in the front was messed up so I just took my handy screwdriver and separated the pins in it and now it works, but now I don't have a usable usb cord for my battery pack charger but hey I'll live.
Thanks you guys for the suggestions! ^^

Towel trick= Bad idea, LOL. I like that image BTW, lol. All this does is cause more damage to the hardware (if your warranty is still active this method will void it)
Seems like the Power Supply Unit (PSU) or possibly the fuses on the circuitboard have gone bad. The consoles I have been repairing lately had the exact same problem (would not turn on). Try this for me: Go ahead and plug in the Power Supply to your XBOX 360 and outlet. Look at the Power status light and tell me what color is the light:
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p303/rippla/orangepower.jpg
Here are the light colors and their status:
Orange= Faulty PSU, overheated, not plugged in correctly
Green= Is working correctly
No Light= Fuse burned out, faulty wires
Even if the console doesn't turn ON, the light might be Orange or Green.
