Okay looks like we can see goodbye to Vista and hello windows 7 but here's the part that bothers me a bit , Must we all buy the upgrade in stores/online or is it a free Via Update ? :mvconfused:..

Definitely going to be that we have to buy the upgrade. When Vista came out thats how it worked and every OS change before. If you are in college your school may do something like LSU is doing for me. We are able to download it on the release date for free and get it for one PC.

If you have Vista home premium or higher, you can get a discounted upgrade. Most new computers that are selling PC's with Vista should qualify for the free upgrade (refurbed PC's excluded) - at least from what I've read.

And if you're a college student, you may be able to grab it for $29.99 here (http://windows7.digitalriver.com/store/mswpus/en_US/DisplayHomePage?resid=vsuwhQoBAkcAAA1DU1QAAAAh&rests=1254434298873) if you qualify. Qualification depends on the validity of your .EDU email, your current enrollment in the U.S., and if your PC can handle Windows 7 :)

I get it free too as I have Microsoft Developers Network Account. Just have to get a PC that can handle it!

I'm keeping Xp until Windows 7 prove that it's better then Xp and Vista combined. Look what happened with Vista as it was suppose to out do Xp. Enough said. I love my XP. I don't need to change it right now for anything. Don't jump on the bandwagon until a good two years down the line when they fix all the bugs.

I had the option to have a free upgrade, and from what has been said about the new W's 7 its bound to be better in many ways than W's Vista...in any form I hate Vista so I am going to be upgrading.

If you have Vista then by all means upgrade. Anything is better than Vista. Windows 98 is better than Vista.

I have had Win 7 for like 2 weeks now. I love it. By far better than vista ever was. It just took me like 5 hours to get all my data off my computer, install win 7, then download all the programs i had, and finally copy the files back. But other then that i didnt experience any problems with drivers like i did when i upgraded from xp to vista when vista came out.

I did prefer XP to Vista to be honest, but I am deffinately jumping at the chance to get my free upgrade very soon. Plus it takes up less space than Vista, which is very good. Vista sucks -_-

I have been using 7 since Beta 1 came out along time ago and I love it.

I got the RTM gold version a week ago from MSDN and I have had very little problems.

I am also in love with Office 2010. It is sooo nice looking. Only had trouble on a few spreadsheets so far.

I knew I should have used the Beta version, but sadly I didn't :(

But seeing as quite a few people have said they havent had any problems yet, I cant wait until I get confirmation of delivery. (Which still hasn't come yet and it was released yesterday)

I might stick with Office 2007 for now. :P

Good to hear from your side Snake... Glad to see you back on forums. BTW, when you'd be able to remove "Do Not Disturb" from your official tag?
