If I had to pick a college team, it'd be Notre Dame. Probably my future school.

Pittsburgh Steelers (obviously) :)
I do have to say that, so far, Week 1 has been awful. The Steelers won, so that makes up for the rest of the games.

National, my team of choice is the Green Bay Packers. Not a good start to the season for us, beaten 26-0 by the Bears and Farve was shutout for the first time in his career

I see Trent Green got carried off on a stretcher today, dunno how long he is out for.

Broncos are my team...to bad they turned the ball over 5 times today. At least I won my fantasy football game and advanced onto next week in survival football.

Seattle Seahawks. Gotta root for the home team. They made it to the Super Bowl last year... I'm sure they can do it again :D

Nice to see someone's going for the Chiefs with their ticket numbers in the crapper this season already. I'm sure they'll bounce back from that loss today. Cincy's going to be a solid team this year anyway, so it's excusable.
My team is on the other side though (Da Rams). How's about those 6 field goals by Wilkins to hand the Broncs their first (and hopefully not last) loss of the season?
Carolina Panthers All The Way Baby!!!

My home team would theoretically be the Deadskins but if I have to root for anybody, it would be Seattle. To be honest though, I'm rooting for the teams on my predictions list.
I would have played fantasy football except I dont keep up with who the star players are much anymore.. I know about a handful of them, but not each and every one.. but I do know the good teams, so thats why I'm instead predicting games. So far I'm 11-3 on Predictions, and hoping for the Vikings and Oakland to pull it out for me tomorrow.

I'm watching Steelers vs Jags right now. It's Ben Roethlisberger's first game back after his motorcycle accident.
Did anyone else see Roelisberger's appendix on ESPN?? Kinda sick, especially as I was trying to get something to eat at the time. I understand the Steelers wanting to play him and he is throwing well so far in this game but they're taking a risk if he takes a big hit.
PS: Packers now 0-2 :( step it up guys!!

Chiefs' D is looking good, even if Hermball ain't the best offensive way. *Silently wishes Al Saunders had stayed.*

YAY Archer!! I like you already :) I'm a United fan, have been since 1990. I could talk about football all day...I love football. If you've got myspace Archer check out a group I made dedicated to football. http://groups.myspace.com/footballfortheloveofthegame
Wrong football.. we're talking about American Football.
As much as I love the NFL....Archer is referring to the real football, the kind where you use your foot more than 3 occaisions in the game. Everyone else calls it football.

There isn't a "real football" and a "fake football", my friend. Theres an American Football and a European Football.
Also let it be known that European Football has 2 names.. Football and Soccer. American Football only has 1 name.. Football. This is why most of the world has adopted to calling American Football Football, and calling European Football Soccer.

Sorry but we're gonna have to agree to disagree here. IMO the NFL doesn't deserve to be called football as you don't use your foot in the game enough and a ball is a spherical shape. You said it...it's called American Football but just because you live in America you call it football therefore dropping the American side of the name. Soccer isn't a sport it doesn't exist, all games such as rugby and american football derived from football when it was created by us many many years ago. Most of the world doesn't call it soccer, just the Americas (US, Canada, Mexico etc). To each their own but this is something I feel strongly about so I feel like defending that. I will respect that this is a primarily US forum and I don't get much opportunity to talk about American Football seeing as not so many people like it here so........
Anyways back to the NFL. Anyone see Ryan Longwell's touchdown pass on a fake kick? That was a good play I thought. The former Packer kicker tied the game and then kicked for the win. I remember seeing someone attempt a flea flicker pass in another game only to have it fumbled and intercepted by the opposition...dunno which game that was but it was funny.
...Honestly, why are we going to argue?
NFL is Football (It doesn't matter how many times they kick it)
Euro is Soccer
As for NFL teams, I am rooting for Seahawks, (Go figure)

Im a die-hard UCF fan...we had an amazing season last year, but unfortunatly, we are off to a bit of a rough start this season...We tore up Villanova in the season opened, only to be anally assaulted by UF 42-0...we didnt even cover the spread...:-( We lost to USF this past saturday, our QB decided to play like he did in 04, which was REALLY FREAKING BAD...*sighs*
Im a Pats/Bucs fan....but I really dont like pro ball all that much...the pagentry, hometown pride and celebration that comes with college ball is way cooler...I know cause Im in my college Marching band...

Wah Hay another United Fan in the house..i've been a united fan since i was a small child as my dad comes from Manchester (Oldham) and have been ever since. Loved it when we won the Treble back in 1999, ah those where the days. Still not been that strong this season but you can never tell with united they can come back from being 2 down.
Armagaddon tryed your link but its not responding would have loved to read about your group.
Nokarot Football was invented by the English and we named it Football so any other name was just throught up along the way...most other countrys call Football Football and American Football American Football
