I've been gone for a few months while recovering from a head injury, and things seem to have changed quite a bit on the PC side of things; my situation is much improved, althoguh I still can't always use sound at this point in time. I've been part of this clan (pc cs:s division specifically) since about Febuary 2006, although what became the cs:s division (both pms and h2o at the time) had been hanging around together since November 2005.

Nowadays it seems that none of the other women play cs:s on a regular basis - they all seem to have gone backwards to 1.6 for some reason :( I'd like a chance to get to know some of the new faces, but I don't really know where to begin. I pretty much only play pc games, the exceptions right now being Uno on the 360 and and FF VIII on my PS2. I used to play Halo 2, but haven't looked back since moving to cs:s.

I've enjoyed games in several genres over my gaming career (FPS and RPG are my current faves), although I've been a casual gamer. I do have a competitive streak, although I haven't really put that to use in video games (board games are a different story...:D ).

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Oh yeah, I do remember seeing you a couple times Ninja. I'd be happy to play against ya sometime soon :p

Jumper, I will have to take you up on that offer to play cs:s. The more people in cs:s the merrier :D 1.6, well, er... I dunno. We'll see.

I did try 1.6 about a year ago, and I was quickly back in cs:s. People complain about the aiming in cs:s, and I find that the aiming in 1.6 is worse. Aim straight in the middle of the head, point blank, the guy was afk and not moving, and I miss completely. That doesn't make sense to me. Graphics are a factor, but not the only one (it's easier for me to get into a game when the graphics are more realistic). The new radar in cs:s pwns! I had some luck on choosing 1.6 servers when I tried it, and I liked how they showed my accuracy % instead of just damage statistics; nowadays I'm finding servers on cs:s that display the same thing (if not more). I just don't see any reason to switch games.

It may be fun to play halo sometime, although at this point I only have a few pc people on my friends list and they're pretty much never on their 360. xbox gamertag = PMS Strabo if you want to send me a request.

I actually agree with you. The aiming in CS:S is more realistic to me to me, and I tend to do better. PMS switched to 1.6 due to the fact that no serious high-end leagues play Source, and probably wont, which is a smart change if you ask me if you're playing competitively.

Why leagues only support 1.6 and why people stick to it, I'll never know. Theres the never-ending battle between netcode and registration and this and that. Maybe the people who've been playing for 15 years can tell the difference, but really, its a highly debateable subject which wont get anybody anywhere, cause nobodys switching.. in PMS or in CPL/Other Leagues :x.

in closing, I dont like the new radar in CS:S :(. Its an upgrade, but its also distracting because of that. It'd be cool if I could toggle the old one rather then try to get used to the new one.
