Wow, and the last I looked, the Euro was about 63 cents to our dollar.....and after looking at www.xe.com, it's now one Euro equals US$1.44....so that's US$108 for a game?!!!!!!! Wow......just wow :p

that's almost 40 bucks more than what I pay for a new game with tax included.

Eh, new games cost about $100 here, games like Halo and COD4 were closer to $116.
It's very expensive, but I'd seriously cry if they boycott MW2 so we get it later here or something..

I wanna know why is it so damn expensive in Europe, when we're paying 40% less???
Norway uses the Euro, right?

No, we're no in the EU union. We have our own currency.
It almost adds up if you look at pay checks etc, but it's still a little expensive here compared to in the states. I'm not sure about the UK though.

Why is it so different in price...
The short version: because they can. When you take into account localizations and currency fluctuations, it representatives the base difference in the currency markets. I mean, from the perspectives of Europeans if they've been paying 70 euros for a game since the euro went into effect, initially they were paying about $50 bucks. But now since exchange rates are different, that represents a much higher relative value to the US... about 116. In theory it should still 'seem' the same to Europeans, but since they probably pay less for other things with the way the economy has been going - its a bit ass backwards to hike the price up when they're already an 'expensive' currency compared to what they used to be.

what's the name of the currency?
I kinda figured they did it cuz they simply can. But a 40% increase? Damn.

if i buy the game, i will just go to amazon and buy it for £44. tesco's will probably sell it for £40. Game will probably sell it for £54 because at christmas time they would want their pockets to jingle rather than ours.... then if i waited to january tesco will end up reducing it to around £30.... hmmm maybe maybe
