Final Fantasy VII is my fave of all time, followed by Mass Effect, and i also love the game that is an RPG in FPS disguise, Bioshock.

I have played a few pretty good Rpg's one is named Two Worlds not a very Pop game you can pick it up for 10-20usd at game stop not much online game play but a great game with a great story.

Dragon Quest, Breath of Fire, and Wild Arms are my faves, I wasn't big on Final Fantasy games but I play them sometimes.
As for xbox I really like Mistwalker's Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, and Mass Effect.

KOTOR and Diablo 1 and 2. only RPG's i played hardcore. with KOTOR i didnt see that story twist coming (no joke) and diablo, well its just cool and the armors are cool especially when you put some gems on them and they turned blue or gold and the such. (assasin class ftw). i think i played more but those are ones that "Have an RPG feel" to them so i dont know if those count but if they do then the only one i remember right now is Metroid for the gamecube. awesome experience and pretty good looking for a gamecube title.

its basically like world of warcraft cept you can do its campaign solo or co-op on b-net but at the same time you can fight other players. plus you go against the devil himself (least in 2 cause i never completed 1 cause i started playing 2 and didnt really care for 1). i dont know how else to explain it, you just start playing and youre hooked.

well me neither on that one (not into orcs and all that stuff) but well trust me diablo is a good game. you can get the collection (1,2 and its expansion plus 2 strategy guides) for less than 40.

Funny how one of the first threads I stumble on out here is about RPG's (my fave!) :P I'm like Misson - my list could go on and on... first and foremost, I've been a Final Fantasy fan for so long now. 10 was my first (had it on PC actually, lol!) and I liked 8, 9 was OK - but then 10 got me hooked again. I'm so stoked for 13, and the fact that it's coming out on the 360 just tickles me pink (achievements baby!!)

I also was really into Phantasy Star online back in the Dreamcast days, that was fun while it lasted. I also gotta put KOTOR right up there too. I guess you can call the Fables RPG's too, so I'm excited for Fable 3 too, we're playing as your hero's child from Fable 2, so that should be interesting.

Here's a blast from the past with RPG's though, we recently got our Wii modded to play tons of old NES/SNES/etc games, and went through and beat Swords and Serpents, lol! It was hilariously old-skool, but fun at the same time.

I bet! I did X-2 afterwards, and thought it was okay, but loved X much better, the Tidus/Luna love story just got me! But I was such a nerd for it that I was completely happy with X-2 - much more grrrrl power action in that one!

Yeah the info so far about Fable 3 is that it's your hero's child from Fable 2, which if you finish the Snowglobe DLC in Fable 2, it alludes to you having a child, don't wanna have any spoilers here, but I think they included that last part of the DLC for a reason ;)

im not a big rpg person, for the simple fact that most of them have that turn based style gameplay. but my favorite that is considered an rpg is the kingdom hearts series, i absolutely love kingdom hearts. but that to me shouldnt be considered an rpg... to me its a plat former beat em up with a really deep story.

By far Final Fantasy is THE BEST franchise when it comes to RPGs. From the ones on the Nintendo to the PS3 and beyond I have yet to see someone take down the king of the RPGs. Now WOW is a monster but its not close to FF, no way shape or form. This franchise has been here since 1987 and is about to release 2 new games. Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIV Online.

Have to say these games are the ones that made the biggest impression on me, Being pissed when Aerith dies after I more or less made her main healer in FF7, Dueling Sephiroth in Radiant Garden to the point of attack or die in KH2, Banging my head against the wall for a week because I couldn't beat Seymour Flux, Mortiorchis in FF 10...I could go on forever about the cool little moments lol.

Tales of Vesparia is not as good as Tales of Symphonia, but it was decent. I loved Symphonia to death, which is why I decided to buy Vesparia. I beat the whole thing, but I was never really wowed or surprised by Vesparia at all.

In the same vein, a friend suggested Radiant Historia to me. Does anyone know if that's good/worth my money?

My #1 Favorite RPG would have to go to Final Fantasy VI, as I think Kefka is the greatest villain ever. I mean the guy actually manages to become a god and destroys the world, and he's genuinely insane.


My other choices would go to FF VIII and X, Grandia 3, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, and Ocarina of Time.

Yeah, that's about it. Been playing Dragon Age: Origins every now and then, but haven't done enough of it to call it a favorite yet... if that'll happen at all.
