I love my xbox 360 but at the same time it's great to keep in mind that, "hardware performance, while important, is only a third of the puzzle."

Very true, the PS3 is definately shinier.

super saiyan, this is not needed on these forums really, if you want to have a fanboy debate, go here: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=314159282

there's plenty of "you's" there that will actually listen to your rambling, and actually fight you. this forum however, is filled with smart people. ^that one, is filled with fanboy's like you that want to show that their "system" is better, when truthfully, you can't say it's "better" till you have played it, and seen it, and you won't do that, till november. so before you rant some more about how much teh treesexty is better, wait till the ps3 comes out, and blows it away, then talk crap.

Developer support, accessibility of hardware and software configuration and the knowledge thereof, and system strength.QFT. The worth of a game console will always be determined the games released for the platform.

Its all in the hands of the game developers, I say.

PS2 has poor graphics compared to modern day XBox360, but then they released the bombshell known as "God of War".. Flawless graphics, almost perfectly seemless gameplay and loading times, great looking piece of work, which in my opinion still rivals that of the 360.

Except for the bandwidth, which the 360 dominates in, everythings close, anyway. Its like comparing 105% to 100%. If that little extra increase of performance is keeping you from a PS3, you have a lot more to think about before making your choice.

The 360 is good, get it if thats what you want, but again I say, its all in the hands of the game developers. If PS3 has better games, or at least games I'd rather play, I'd get that. Likewise for the 360. I'd sacrifice 5% unnoticeable performance increase for better games any day.
