I got braces in 8th grade... what was originally thought to be a year turned into 2 1/2 years because I refused to wear my rubberbands... Moral: Wear Your Rubberbands :p

i had mine for like 2 years. and i should be wearing a retainer right now. but i don't. i am hopefully going to get a permanent retainer on the top. cause i have one on the bottom. it's just a metal bar cemented onto your teeth. heh.

Zomg I had my braces when I was in 7th grade to 8th grade. It was horrible XP But the time goes by decently fast. Just remember to buy pain killers =( Goodluck

Oh yeah, you know you can get clear braces now? They cost extra, but it might be worth it if you are really concerned on how they look.

uhm, i have braces, there not all that bad, sometimes i forget i have them lol, just im not gonna lie they do hurt sometimes, and yes wear ur rubber bands. (they hurt too though) ugh, yeah :) its not that bad, ( i had to get teeth pelled before i got em )

haha the pain lasts for maybe a couple days and only when you chew so pain killers aren't necessary.

and I have braces right now in my senior year but it doesn't matter because the photographers can edit the braces out of the picture for a few extra dollars.

whats the reason behind wearing rubber bands? I wasn't told to do so.

well no worries they're not bad at all. i mean they do hurt but they're barely noticable (to others) but if u smile, yep there noticeable

hmm well, heres how they do it, since the tech in dental and orhadontel is growing fast they have made some new things, insted of rubber bands the braces have little brackets where the wire goes in
when they start first they put on the brackets with super duper glue, that does not hurt, then...they slide in a metal wire and on the back racket and then they clip the wire to the right length and then the fun part they close all of the brackets which titens the wire, it does not hurt right away, but.. i would advise to take some pain relivers RIGHT AFTER you have the braces, then the teeth will start to shift, the first few days about 4-5 the teeth will feel very tender, so the best thing to eat would be maceroni and cheese and soup. but on the first and second day, which are the important days, since they hurt so....little what i did was drink a WHOLE LOATTA Slurpees aka slushees. note, what happen to me when i first got them i always wanted to go to red lobster, i was never there before and i heard that it was the best so we went there the day after i got my braces, AH!!!! i could not eat anything:( :( the pain was to much, and i wanted to try out lobster and i could not :(......
so all i could have was clamchowder soup........ well thats my story, oh and heres one thing i should have do, before you go in the room to get them on make sure that your lips are not dry or they will crak. yup braces suck big time, so i know what you are going through. if you ould like to know more or more tips feel free to ask.
