I'm playing them all right now on the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the PS2. I am currently on #7. I played #2 when I was little, but that was it. It will always be my favorite. I'm not really crazy about 7 right now. I don't like change and it is so different. I want my old nes graphics back haha.
Oh and btw, I am beating each game twice: once on normal and then on hard.

Are you counting the Mega Man X series? I never could get into the original series, but Megaman X3 still holds a special place in my heart. XD

Yay, someone to talk to. I am so bored lol.
Yes, I am counting the X series, but I haven't played any of them yet. I don't even know when they start.

Haha, sorry. I go starting conversations and don't even stick around... now I feel like a jerk. lol
Megaman X is the first one, taking place maybe a hundred years or so after Mega Man 8. You should totally play them. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but the apple definitely gets some sweet upgrades. XD
I'll start playing through the other Mega Man games once I get my PS2 back from my cousins. I've been meaning to play the first three at very least.

Classic Mega Man? Awesome. ^_^
I was always torn between 2 and 4. And 9 from Live Arcade is a real challenge, too. :D

The original NES trilogy is required playing for any platforming/action buff, as is the SNES Mega Man X trilogy. ^_^

Might have been Mega Man Zero? Crazy hard spin-off of the MMX series. Or maybe "Mega Man and Bass", a remix of Mega Man 8. :mvconfused:

Noooo...I won't be able to play the X series b/c the collection only goes to 8 with 2 bonus games that I don't know anything about, except that one is some fighting game.
Trogdor, you like 4, eh? The Dr. Wiley stages frustrated me so much that 4 is on the bottom of my list haha. I love dust man though. :)

Dust Man sucks. :p (see what I did there?) My favorite Robot Master of all time is Guts Man, just 'cause the dude is a TANK. :D
I really find MM4 insanely challenging, esp. the Wily bosses at the end. Maybe that's why I like it so much. :D

Haha, Dust Man does suck. Maybe he should have been named Vacuum Man instead?
I think my favorite is Spark Man. It may have something to do with us sharing a name or it may be because his level was super fun with awesome music.

Hehe, ClubSammich, I have that music playing on my profile. As I've been going through each of the Mega Mans, I've been writing down all of the bosses' weaknesses, even the ones in the Dr. Wiley stages. I do this when I go through it on normal and it makes it a lot easier when I go through it on hard!

Fun facts time!!! :mvboogie::D:mvboogie:
In MM2, Metal Man can be KO'd in one hit with his own weapon (two hits on Hard), and Wood Man can be KO'd the same way with a fully-charged Atomic Fire. And in MM3, every stage boss can be killed with seven hits from his own weapon.

Megaman 2 hands down. Though sadly back in the day I never beat it, and haven't really played it, now i think i'm going to (All the ones i have are still on the actuall NES) i always got stuck on the one stage where there are those things on the wall that shoot you and you can only kill them with that one thing that sticks to the wall. *sigh* Though spark you get a *internet high-five* for having the same favorite one as me.

Regime, you should go through it again and beat it- you were so close! On that level, I always found it helpful to go to the boss and destroy all the walls, die, and then refill my crash shooter and then kill the boss. The walls stay gone so it is much easier. I need to get back to my Mega Man marathon. I'm going through Mega Man 7 on hard, but I haven't played it in a few weeks.

MegaMan is by far my favorite series ever. I got hooked on the original NES and rented every one I could when I was a kid. I will definitely have to find the anniversary collection and play them all over again. I will say though, I think they started to run out of ideas when they got to "PharoahMan" "CentaurMan" etc. But they did pretty well when they finally switched over to animal based bosses like "Spark Mandrill" and the like in the Mega Man X series.

my favorite is... all lol i like the classic ones cause of the tunage which gets catchy and the X series cause of the upgrades he gets in the game and if i remember its where you can play as that one guy with the Lightsaber. (i know its not a lightsaber but i call it that anyways). though if i had to pick one... id pick the one where you switch suits but not just for weapons but for lifts or ramps and the such. forgot which one it was though

I also count Mega Man 9 as one of my favorites because once I downloaded it for the Wii, I couldn't stop playing it. :P

yeah i have to say bravo to capcom for that one. wait years to release 9... not that it was planned but it never made sense to me to have 1 - 8 then start the X serious... which i thought was 10. but no 9 so it never made sense. but then they make a "new" "retro" game so to speak... brilliant.

So which Mega Man does everyone think is the hardest? I've only played 1-8 and I think 8 is definitely the hardest. A lot of people think 1 is the hardest, but I thought the only hard part in that game was the orange "break apart, come back together boss" on the first Dr. Wiley stage.

8 was intense, but I've heard that... 2, I think, was the hardest of the classics. I can say for sure that X6 was the hardest one from the X series, just overshadowing X5 by a little bit, but easily outweighing the rest of them.
As far as really stupid boss names go (saw this mentioned towards the top of the page), the large onion-like boss from X7, Tornado Tonion remains unchallenged, I think. In fact, I stopped playing the game upon running into this boss and hearing the god-awful voice acting. XD

i think 8 was the hardest, they didnt ease up while making those sequels... but its definitely not 2, that was the easiest for me personally. which is probably why it was the most successful.

I may be mistaken. A friend of mine bought Megaman 1-3 on the Wii Virtual Console and said that one of those three were the hardest in the series... but he also mentioned one being extremely easy. Perhaps he meant 3. Either way, I'll get on to DL'ing some of those ROMs and check them out.

Ugh, I was hoping the Mega Man X series would be easier. Oh well.
I think Mega Man 2 is one of the easier games, but that was the only one I played growing up so that may be why it's easy for me.

That and it also has great music! 2 and 3 are my favorites and they're both relatively easy with the best music in the series (in my opinion).

Well, let me take you in to my Mega Man filled past. Before I used to be amazingly epic in the shooter-series, I used to have trouble beating MM2. I always thought it was the hardest, but now I can beat it in an amazingly quick 45 min. I will always consider that one to be the hardest because i had the most trouble. I still think 8 was hard and 7 was just annoying, but still. MM2 remains the hardest.
Although 3 was up there. :mvconfused:

Perhaps they were hard for you because you were young? I know I struggled with games when I was a child. It actually makes me want to go play through some classics that I used to think were hard and see how easy they are now!

oh well that would def be 3. but seriously 2 was a pretty simple game (well that is until the castle, then it gets a bit more difficult). the 3rd had harder enemies and you took more damage with hits from small baddies. the boss fights were alot more intense because they didnt take much damage, luckily there was a pattern on which stages to do in what order so you could use your newly acquired weapon as the next bosses weakness... but if you dont know the pattern... it can really suck.
