This doesn't come as a huge surprise given the rumors floating around before it became official. Given how much praise the game has gotten from E3 though, I figured it was something worth posting that Assassin's Creed is officially coming to the 360. It's actually fairly big news because this was one of Sony's big PS3 "exclusives".
Here's a Q&A from Gamespot with the game's producer:

Does it say when the game will release?
I want this game in a serious way. It looked insane. I stood and watched the preview at least 4 times during e3.

that is so ****ing stupid. screw 360.
assassin's creed is going to be good on ps3. and ps3 only. microsoft can eat it. ugh that makes me really pissed off.
I take it you really hate the 360 and Microsoft.

i love how you call me a fanboy. i'm merely stating that i think the game will only be good on the ps3.
no i don't hate the 360. i have one, why would i have one and hate it. i'm not a fanboy either, and i'm not "drooling" over the ps3. it was a basic statement. never call me a fanboy again. fanboy's would kill people to make them think one system is better, all 3 of the next gen systems have their strong points, and i will have all 3. never call me a fanboy again.

Skywalker, this is a thread to talk about Assassin's Creed. No offense, but your part in this contributes nothing to the topic. There are much better ways to voice your opinion than what you posted.
Now, back on topic. r33hash, it has it listed for 2007 as of now. I don't think anything really has been said yet. I'm really looking forward to it as well.

That's something a fanboy would say. Favoring one system over the other, especially when we haven't even seen what the PS3 is truely capable of, and the 360 can handle some very serious games and graphics already.

saying microsoft can eat it is my personal opinion. i don't really like microsoft's ideas with PC's or some of the 360 games, they just don't appeal to me sometimes.
the 360 and other games are completely different however, and i still disagree with some of the games on the 360. that's just how it is. but calling me a fanboy is retarded. just don't do it.
At PAX the ubisoft booth with the frag dolls were playing an assassin game, where you wore an assassin's creed T-shirt and run around the venue sticking other people with the shirt with stickers. whoever had the most "lifes" (they were forks) at the end won something. i didn't do it, but it was amusing to watch.

lol... It seems wherever I go, Skwalker has something negative so say about something. Have you ever heard the saying "if you dont got nothing nice to say, dont say nothing"?
Im glad this is coming out on 360, because I dont wanna spend $600 on a system thats basically a Blu-Ray player with some gaming features on the side. Besides the PS3 is "better" (I use quotes, because im not sure how much "better" it really is) on paper, but nobody knows how it'll perform.
But back on topic... this game looks to be pretty gnarly, and I really gald that the powers that be decided to make a 360 version.

The demo showcased at E3 today is pretty much amazing..
The 6-on-1 fight looked absolutely amazing..a different kill for each person..hopefully the game doesn't recycle kills too much..
The chase scene at the end of it looked like a movie..like a cutscene, but it isn't..it's straight up gameplay..
I'm definitely going to get this game in November..the storyline alone has me excited..

I read somewhere at IGN that Assassin's Creed was due to release in October or September. I've been keeping tabs on this game for a while now, and its one of the reasons why I'm upgrading from the Xbox to the 360 and getting rid of my Wii(not to mention there aren't many good games on the Wii right now). IGN posted that Assassin's Creed has a sort of free-run feature, where you use a thumbstick and the X-button I think. It allows you to climb to any place in the game that you can see. It's awesome if you ask me, and will be one of the best releases of the year: IMO.
EDIT: Read the article here (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/802/802794p1.html).

yep i know i saw the trailer, and trailer demo for it and it looks great it looks like they have spent alot of time on it especially since it shows that one event doesnt happen twice so basicly like in story mode if an enemy goes to a market and you like restart your system and you try to cheat by intercepting him at market he will not be there because he will be at a dif. place so thats cool how like the machine thinks for itself

Yeah, definitely not gunna get too bored. Plus, you DON'T have to do missions. You could just do the free-run thing until you die of old age. There are plenty of... what was the word they used... "high points" in the free-running option. Such as visiting the high points in the city, or free falling from a building top into a wagon filled with hay. There are endless possibilities....
I can't wait to get it!

According to IGN it plays awesome. They say it's the first of the "next-gen" games, and it breaks through the barriers set for previous and new games.
As for the gameplay, according to IGN, and other companies(can't name any off the top of my head) the game isn't guided at all. No one is required to do the missions, but they are available to play. Gamers will be able to spend hours just running around the city of Jerusalem(and the other two cities), trying to get to certain rooftops and trying new stunts.

Still can't wait for this game to come out. It'll be the number one game on my list this year!

I will laugh when you all realize just how much garbage this game will actually turn out to be. I thought it looked brilliant, too... until Ubisoft was stupid enough to reveal gameplay footage. See, that's Ubisoft's weakness: gameplay.
In the meantime, I'll be waiting for Ninja Gaiden 2.

Ah, then I guess you would enjoy Assassin's Creed.
Italy
10-26-2007, 09:29 PM
Hmm... I was under the impression that you had control of the character. Care to elaborate on "no control"? I mean, if being able to climb any wall, fight straight through, and other things like that aren't considered controlling the character, then what does?

When you put out $60 for this, you'll see what I mean.
Then again, if you enjoyed Prince of Persia, you might just buy into this crap.
Italy
10-26-2007, 09:39 PM
Well, I guess its the fact that I won't be the one playing, and that I thought Persia was ok(could have been better). I still think this game is going to be awesome but I wonder, what happens whenever you decide to give it a try(if ever) by borrowing a friends copy or whatever and then decide that you like it. Would you change your mind then or what? If you ask me, it looks very promising!
Freakstylez
10-26-2007, 09:44 PM
I can tell by the trailers that I will not like it. I thought Prince of Persia looked pretty good... but when I finally played it, I couldn't bear to play it for more than 20 minutes.
For me to enjoy this game, they'd need to: a) remove those massive battles... it just looks completely stupid to be surrounded by 12 guys that stand there like morons; b) make it truly free-roaming. I don't want any of this "you can accomplish anything in any way you please" crap only to find that there's only one way to assassinate somebody because they want to add "difficulty." The one trailer I saw made me want to cry... there's a guy giving a speech, and instead of just tossing a shuriken or knife or whatever it is your character uses, he jumps down and fights them all.
It's not likely I'll enjoy it, but I'll probably rent it just to confirm. I don't want to continue saying it's garbage if by some miracle it is actually decent.
Though, to be fair, I didn't like Ninja Gaiden at first... then again, I hadn't really played it, either. Ninja Gaiden Black turned out to be one of my favorite action games ever.
Italy
10-26-2007, 09:49 PM
I see... that makes sense, though I'm still psyched for it. I'm usually more of a shooter guy, with a really good RPG every once in a while(haven't played one in forever), so I guess I'm hoping this will be the awesome RPG i've been waiting three years for.

Well ive got plenty of opinion on plenty of whats been said but hey im lazy so yah.
The actual map area is huge, and the strat guide is over 400 pages. So its a pretty massive game. That doesnt say its going to be good, and yes i agree some of the videos looked like crap, many glitches, but that was an old video, the newest one is much better and fluid.
Oh and as far as prince of persia, i think you should give it more then just a 20 min try, you never know by such a short time span. Offcourse i know exactly how it is to be disapointed with a game and just never giveing it the real chance it MAY deserve.
Ill be getting assassins creed on the PS3, mainly due to the fact the game initially came out and was built up on the PS3 so i feel it will just be made better on that system, They will most likely be exact duplicates, or the 360 will have somethign better lol, like ussual but my PS3 needs games, and i think i will enjoy the control scheme on the PS3 controler a bit better i guess. I wasnt going to get this game, but teh awsome 200 page art book convinced me to reserve it, and the awsome lithograph with teh special edition strat guide aswell.
As far as teh 360 and PS3 exclusive, i feel its pretty stupid for any game thats not made by sony or microsoft to be exclusive. Unless Microsoft pays it TONS to keep it only on the 360 like they did with Bioshock.
I do feel Microsoft is a cash cow monopoly when it comes to things. They use there over ubundance of money to get what they want like a spoiled child. But im happy assassins is comeing to the 360. (even though im getting on the PS3) (which by the way i got an awsome deal on my PS3, otherwise i wouldnt of wasted my money on it at its rediculuse price, and low amount of good games. Which is acctually changeing to a degree. so yay) Its nice owning all three systems.

lieunacy. honestly. you're opinions can be argued till time ends. until god smotes thee. because that's what they are, your opinions. like your opinion that ninja gaiden is the best action game ever, i myself (as you can see) think dmc is one of the best with ninjag coming in at a close second. there's also people out there that enjoy prince of persia.
and like you i was very discouraged with assassin's creed, never really looked into it, saw trailers and was like "meh". but then i saw a live demo at PAX '07. and WOW. not only are you completely wrong about "not having any control" but you saying this is like prince of persia then you are completely bonkers.
the fight scheme yes is very none assassiny and is more warrior eshce. but you have to think about it, if you make a game where you don't have to really do anything but throw a shuriken and run away it'd get boring fast. but even if you did that, i'm sure the AI would find you, as it is completely intelligent in this game, and they don't just "stand there like morons" you actually have to fit in combos and battle multiple enemies. the sword fighting is very well done. you can also decide to do some secret killing, run away, and hide, then it will go into a high up 3rd person view. and yes the enemies will follow you, and if you hide well enough, eventually they will go somewhere else. this game is different than any other action game, and i can't wait and am looking forward to it.

Yes, that's why a lone assassin can take on 10 men at once.

I didn't state that, I simply qualified Ninja Gaiden as one of the best action games. As in, there isn't one better that I could name. Devil May Cry is a series I haven't played much since the very first game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
In any case, what I've stated about Assassin's Creed is fact. Of course, not everyone will go along with facts; I know I sure as hell don't. A lot of people would say Deathrow is a garbage game... and from a technical standpoint, that's a fact. I personally enjoyed it. Metroid Prime? Technically a good game, well put together, etc. I hated it.
Fact is, Assassin's Creed will suck. Will that stop people from buying it and enjoying it? No.
(And I don't know how you think the PAX trailer looks any better. It's more of the same, though I admit that some of his attack animations looked somewhat cleaner.)

i said live demo. meaning i watched the lead developer play it. it wasn't a trailer which you are getting your opinions off of. what i saw was indeed true and raw fact. not based off of a scripted item.
you keep saying "it will suck". as it's everyone's opinion that it sucks. a more meaningful statement would be "i think, or in my opinion, it will suck" otherwise. i'll just disregard what you say.

Im looking forward to the game big time, it should be good. Now that the game has gone gold, did anyone hear any more information on the console specific problems that were popping up at the late end of development? The word from the studio was that Creed was having trouble fitting into a 360 disc while it was all fine on PS3. On the flip side of that they were having problems with the PS3 memory.
I'm definitely excited about playing this game, but I want to make sure that I don't get a version that is either missing some content or is jerky.

So let me ask you this, how many kill or be killed fights have you been in? How ready would you be to jump in and attack an individual wielding a sword with such ease? You ready to die with just attacking right off the bat, or wait for an opertunity? hmmm Im guessing you would call yourself a gamer, so you have played many other games. How many of these said games have you been surrounded by foes, and only one to two maybe three of them attack you, when ten are surrounding you? Im sure EVERY game youve played has the same thing, Even the recent Heavely Sword, i had soilders surrounding me, sometimes one at a time, sometimes several, Same way with God of War, these are two very well made and respectable games. But if you guys wanna try and think you have a POINT with what your saying its just water in a river to us real gamers who know whats what, here one second and taken down river for someone else to swim in for a split second only to keep drifting serving no purpose whatsoever.

So let me ask you this, how many kill or be killed fights have you been in? How ready would you be to jump in and attack an individual wielding a sword with such ease? This is very negative. "us real gamers"? Chill. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion--everyone deserves the opportunity to make it without being chided.

The reviews for Assassin's Creed have been incredibly mixed. 'Hoping someone who has bought the game might be willing to share their immediate thoughts and evaluations of the game. Thanks!

I got the game, assassinated someone and I got to say.. I am enjoying it. The fighting in the game is fun and actually takes timing to get down pat. The story line is NOTHING like I was thinking it was going to be (which you'll see from the moment you start playing). But assassinating people and scaling walls, great fun. If you get it, get it for the 360 because the PS3 I hear has horrible as hell slow down and lag which is uncalled for. I've yet to experience anything like that on the 360s version.

I agree with you sir. But if you would kindly look back at all the former posts, and the ones that the said person you are defending has erased, he was and is the negative nancy, whom we all have given many chances to stop being negative on this thread yet he has failed to do so, as far as my comment being negative, it really isnt, our points our made, and are measured. The only person who can take it negatively is the person it was said to, and im sure he will appreciate the comment back to him, he is a loony guy after all. lol

Actually, The Mark Of Kri for the PS2 is a shining example of how groups of enemies would simultaniously attack your blind sides while you are engaged in a fight. This made the combat very very challenging and fun.
I am also one of those who was a bit let down that the video clips of combat showed it to be a bit slow (this is a similar sentiment shared by 1up and EGM who played it a few months before it was finished). For those who have it, how is the combat system working out? How does it work?

This game kicks major salt! I just invested 4 hours into the game, and there is so much to do I only barely finished the first target before my mom made me turn the game off! So far I think I've already earned nearly a hundred achievement points, which quite amazing to me. I also think this game will make it huge, and I'm praying that they decide to go on with the Trilogy.
Five out of five stars, IMO!

Yeah, i give it 5 out of 5. The gameplay is amazing, though the fighting style in the game takes time to get used to. I am having some trouble with a few cases of "saving citizen" parts. I'm just not quite used to fighting yet, though I have taken like 3 steps towards figuring out counter attacks. Out of the four hours i spent playing the game, two of them were spent exploring Damascus and jumping from roof to roof (first hour was spent on getting to Damascus and the intro type thing at the mountain headquarters).
Tomorrow I will probably ditch halo 3 for about eight more hours of gameplay, lol! Oh, and I did experience a glitch. While trying to get down from an observation point, somehow my left arm disappeared and i couldn't move... it was like the game got stuck for a suck, so i pushed the "drop" button and died. Only to restart at the observation point, though I was able to climb down safely this time.
Oh, and by the way, assassinations are more fun and cool than Jade Raymond led us all to believe!

Okay, I was reading on IGN that they say Assassins Creed is one of the top 5 Biggest let downs in video game history. Honestly I was looking forward to this game for a year all the hype on it and how awesome the commercials made it look. So of course the first day I went and bought it got home and started playing and OMG the first half hour of that game was AMAZING, everything was looking great like a game of the year award or something, but after that it slowly became repetitive, same thing over n over again, EVERY mission involved going to one of the 5 citys and pick pocketing, interigation, and saving citizens .... Everything was mapped out for you and simple (boring)... then you would assassinate your target and return and repeat and the ending is so garbage :/. This is sadly dissapointing for a game with so much potiential, the graphics move so smooth as you jump over buildings and the combat is awesome, but it doesnt seem like it deserves it title of *assassins* creed, because most of the time its just a out straight brawl and then you run up a building jump in some hay and your safe. anyways just thought id share my opinion to those who are thinking of buying it
Oh and I noticed alot of you saying your free to do anything.... Theres nothing to really do, people walk around use the same boring quotes you kill one you loose health and gaurds come after you, thats sadly about it, theres no stealing items getting money for upgrades nothing you cant interact with people, you can run around the top of buildings, pick pocket ONE type of person for some throwing knives, and thats about it. You cant go into houses and see familys there, everybody is pointlessly walking around. you can get a few hours of enjoyment outa it then it gets very very ... old. thanks for your time

Played a whole day of this now, and i see what people mean about the repetitive format of the missions. I can't see myself playing this all the way through in one go, I think I will be dipping into a memory block every now and again over a few months. Shame they couldn't have used the imagination that made the world and the story to make up the gameplay.
In good news, the graphics just get more and more awesome. The fights etc do get more challenging, and you get more moves and weapons as you go. I was just taking on 6 guards all attacking here there and everywhere, and doing some very flashy attacks and counters (my fave involved stabbing him in the kneecap, then the head as he fell over).
Oh and the horseys rock.

The "horseys"(lol) are a lot more real in tis game than in any other "horse usable" game I've ever played. IN oblivion, they're stiff, but you can actually see Altair steer the horse, quite amazing if you ask me.

uh huh, and they get impatient and huff and throw their heads about if you mess them around too much. I could probably just ride around Kingdom for ages. Definately the best game horses, even though they can't charge like thewar horses in Kameo, that was cool - but not realistic.
On another note, I also like the noise when you stab someone through the top of the head - very satisfying, does that make me a bad person?
I wasn't planning on getting it anyway, just too many games and not enough time, but this is indeed a shame after the hype :(

Got bored of it very quickly, the historical accuracy of it is on par with Harry Potter and the Gameplay is repetitive, lacks innovation and general sucks the balls.
