Ok What car are you rolling in then since you want to start this?

DoctorWyland

Currently? None.... I can't have a car on campus because there isn't enough parking for everyone.
It's not that I want to brag about some amazing car that I have, I just enjoy talking about cars. At home I'm driving a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge that I made a few minor mods too (cold air intake, cat back system, and new rims that I was really happy about getting because they were only $50). I want a cheap car this summer that I can rip apart and put back together but I'm not sure what I want yet.

I got a friend who can probably help you with that seriously?

nice cars, i have a 1993 peugeot 106, don't suppose you have them in the US. It's a 1.1 litre, and gets to 60mph in about 21 seconds. It's not much but its all i've got and it does the job I guess!

Nice! I used to have the old eclipse. Those are nice cars.
The Impala is a good car too. Yay for American cars haha.

Nice! I love peugeots. Too bad we don't have them in the US. When I was in Australia I saw them everywhere. At first I was slightly confused because that was the first time I saw them in person. But yeah, good cars.

Dude Toyota are better car to me because of gas. My Chevrolet Impala take up too much gas in one day when I used to have a 1993 Toyota Camry didn't take this much gas.

True, Toyotas typically have pretty good fuel economy, but that's not a brand thing. They are light and have small engines, thus they are fuel efficient.

Diesel is the way to go for good economy. My next car is gonna be a diesel. Friends across the pond would throw a fit if they saw the UK's petrol prices (91 pence a litre!!!!!!)

Very true, although Diesel is more expensive then gas in some places, which makes absolutely NO sense because it's easier to refine.
Gas in Europe is expansive anyway... so sad because I would love to live in Europe. (Damn US $)

No it makes sense. What most people don't get is why Diesel is more. It's almost EXACTLY like regular car fuel but it's for a different demand of vehicle. It's like race fuel for cars it's just in different demand.

Not exactly race fuel, racing fuel is pretty intense and incredibly expensive.

But yeah, Diesel is more dense and thus provides more energy so the vehicle goes through less fuel.

I know but I was just making a point different demand of vehicle = different pricing.

Nice! I love BMWs, it's just that they are really expensive to repair if anything goes wrong. 21 mpg isn't that bad compared to my little Ford Ranger haha. I want to down size though... I need better fuel economy.

Holy crap, seriously? That's awesome. The BMW Z4 M Coupe is an amazing car. Good Mercedes as well. You like German cars? :P
Vespa's are so fun, I need something like that in college.

My friend had a 240sx that he was putting back together. Those are interesting little cars. Lots of fun though lol. The Civic SI is a wonderful car, I was looking into those for the longest time. 4x4 are really nice to have though, I wish my little ranger was 4x4.

I have always liked German cars, my dad is really into porsches. I have owned a few Audi TT's and I love the Audi R8. Next spring I am going to sell my Z4M and buy a 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo. I have driven a couple and they are great cars.

so i figured id revive this dead thread.. just cause im proud of my recent accomplishment with my truck =D dont hate =) so.. for starters.. i have a completely bone stock black 04 silverado extended cab with a 5.3 vortec. the only body mods i have on it is a billet grill for now, i plan on putting 22's on it and lowering it 3 inches. now on to my pride and joy, the stereo =D so i hate stock stereos, that was the absolute first thing to go, ripped out all the stock components the cd player , speakers, and tweeters. ive installed 4 kenwood 6 1/2 's 2 kenwood tweeters, and 2 crossovers powered by a 300 watt phoenix gold amp, an alpine head unit 2 kicker comp cvt shallow 12's and a 600 watt rms amp pushing them.. stupid loud... ill be deaf by the time im 40 haha im not big into go fast, im more of a look nice.. and subtlety is key when fixing up a car anything too flashy and its just gotti i cant stand that ya know?

my turn to comment....

I'm very sad and depress and very very very pissed off because someone Keyed my car today. I have an idea of who did it. And the cop has the lady's name. And if I can find proof that she was driving around the parking lot, then I can bust her stupid ass. (There's cameras everywhere I work at)

How bad is it? Very bad. Both side. down to the metal. Can't be buff. I already asked the recon guys that do that stuff about it.

ARGH!!!! So mad.

my current car is a 95 Ford Taurus. i know what youre thinking... but i got it by choice. i like the Taurus brand and you got to buy domestic (especially now). i got 2 taurus cars, the 95 and the 98 "fancy" version. (sunroof, automatic everything, heated seats, inflatable seat, both seats have the adjuster controls... no handle). im also currently looking into buying the new 2010 SHO taurus but im trying to find a color i like... all i find are Red and silver.

oh man... id be hella pissed... no one keys my baby haha heres what id do to get revenge
1) go to a grocery store
2) buy a package of balogna
3) purchase eggs, and ky
4) put the bologna all over the car randomly
5) put the ky on the door handles
6) egg the house

when they come out the next morning and peel the balogna off the car, itll have eaten away at the clear coat on the paint and their car will be pokadoted, and then when they go to grab the door handle itll be covered in ky and feel disgusting.. now im not condoning this kind of action.. but im just saying what id do haha

A picture from a while ago.
Have another MK4 Jetta for a winter car (currently working on it piece by piece).
And I also have my 1984 Rabbit GTI that will be getting the VR6 turbo treatment whenever I get off my ass and buy the motor.

Come spring time, I'll probably be buying an Audi TT.

EDIT: Just realized I left my track car off of the list. 2002 Subaru STi.

Probably looking into getting an 06/07 BMW 328xi or 06/07 Audi A6 for the winter. I'm going to school in Massachusetts, originally from Cali. I shipped my truck across the country, left the car back home. Both are 2WD- not ideal for snow. So I'll probably be looking for an AWD car in the next month or so. If anyone has any feedback on how these 2 vehicles (BMW/Audi) handle in the snow during the winter seasons, specifically in the NorthEast, I'd appreciate it. I'm pretty set on these cars- but I'm always open for suggestions.

And speaking about Fuel Economy... Both cars get about 12 MPG. I think back when gas prices were at it's highest in California, I was putting in like $130 every week. Now I put in about $70 a week.
