My brother wants to make halo vids the only thing is he can't afford a capture card. So he recorded a bunch of stuff on a dvd the problem is he can't seem to get it on the computer. Is there anyway to get it from a dvd to the computer?

he could get divx which can convert your video to the divx format and be on your hard drive.

Might want to get the DR. Divx one the beta is pretty stable and should be able to rip and transcode the .vob file which can be found here http://labs.divx.com/DrDivX

You need the Dolby Digital filters which means you need the FFDShow ones which you can get them here. http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/

You can afford a DVD recorder but not a capture card? XD My brother got one for like $30 at a local CompUSA.

well the dvd recorder was a gift and i am pretty sure the nearest place to find a capture card that cheap around here is off the internet.

It not bad really, still can get both the same effect except for added steps in taking the video out of the DVD.
