Halo 3: ODST

So, ODST is supposed to come out this year, last I heard. Just wondering what people thought about somet stuff. Who thinks it is going to take over Halo 3? Could we get a possible ODST division? Would ODST and H3 division merge? Any info/questions other than that is up to anyone who posts. Thanks.

I honestly have no freaking clue what ODST is even supposed to be!!! lol Isn't just an expansion on the current campaign? Or is it a whole new game all together?? New online multiplayer? lol like I said I know NOTHING about it!

It's a side story that happens at the same time that Halo 2 takes place. You play as Orbital Drop Shock troops and you go around doing stuff.

Gotham is right. It's not an expasion. Supposedly the multi is going to be close to Halo 3 and have alot of the same maps. That's when the second part to Mythic maps are coming out.

ODST is just a new campaign and new maps nothing else and thats all. Also we can get that *hint special armor hint* with a remake of midship to my understanding :D can't wait

Well, from what is said on Bungie.net by Bungie is that they aren't releasing alot of info about it and that there are more suprises to be released about the multi. But you know, that's what I heard. I'm just wondering if the multi, if it comes with multi, would we end up playing ODST instead of Halo 3. I'm not Bungie and no one else is. So, it's not correct of us to tell other what 'IS' and 'IS NOT' going to be released with this stand alone expansion. We can only say what we hear and see. Stuff changes when they feel like it. If anyone remembers the beginning, it was called 'RECON', now it's not. Everything is up to them. =]

ya its gonna be like a tom clancy game! theres gonna be no shields same kind of shooter and different guns and people, wont be able to jump as you usually could its gonna be really different

Anyone remember star wars republic commando for the xbox? You know, the rainbow six of star wars? Well this is a similiar concept and i think it will be fun not be to a huge cyborg. No disrespect to MC its just it gets old after awhile and it be nice if we got something new. Wonder if they gonna have the helmet lens wiper blade like the commandos did, that was just a cool detail to shoot your enemies, their blood gets all over your visor and an automated wiper blade built in the visor just wipes the blood right off, no input (besides blood) required.

Now is this supposed to go along side of Halo 2 or after the Prophets ship warps out of Zanzibar like has been rumored? The reason i ask is if we are going to be fighting Elites, if they are our ally or if they become our ally throughout the game, like the actual transition. If the first then u can already expect a badazz boss-like fight against sword wielding Elite(s).

You won't be fighting Elites. Said so in a Bungie Weekly Update. Also, I'm pretty sure in another update, they said the MP is just H3 MP.

ODST is just a campaign expansion with new maps. the multiplayer is exactly the same as H3. and players with an ODST game disc would be able to play with players on a H3 disc. so the specific divisions would not exist

Well hello there everyone well here is some info coming from known beta tester that i have known for a while is that Halo 3 ODST will be coming out November 2, 2009 at Midnight 12:00am at Gamestop everywhere. Sometime in September of 09 there will be a chance to get into the Closed beta test for Halo 3 ODST. But will not know the exacted date yet. Also from what bungie studios have said about the new Multi Maps and achievements that will be coming out is the Maps called Long shore remake of Relic. Heretic remake of Gemini. Citadel remake of Midship. There will also be 2 extra maps coming with ODST and they are Waterworks and Headlong remakes. Although that when the game comes out its going to be an Exspantion so once the information is downloaded of the game disk you will not have to use the ODST disk to play you can use the Halo 3 one instead. All the maps from the game will be incorporated into Halo 3 Matchmaking in the beginning of next year. Cant really wait until we play on that game. As soon as more info comes around to me from my friends in the Beta community i will keep you guys informed.

We could just ask Shishka, jk^^ Anyways, right with you there Gotham. They should destroy those maps and I believe Gemini was the worst. Kind of happy they are coming out with a smaller map though. I always LOVED Midship.

Im sorry but i disagree everyone loved midship but i hated it. Made me vomit everytime i played it. Just joking but apparently this is supposed to play different and should be out november at the latest following in the mighty footsteps of the previous halo's.

i knew about this game before halo 3 even came out. There was a lot of rumors about what was at the time Halo Recon and now its Halo ODST. THat and the other halo game coming out called "Reach" right now, videos are on IGN about it. If you kno the story of Halo then u dont need to think twice to know what Reach is about but if u dont know the story REACH is basically like the Pearl Harbor of the Halo world. And from what the intro video cues, you are going to be seeing the orignal spartan program and seeing the different spartan forms from spartan I's to Spartan III's and lord knows what else. After ODST and REACH you can also count on another game after the events of Halo 3 because lets be honest the covenant was never really defeated. Just cuz 3 leaders are dead doesnt mean the war is over, lol. And i honestly dont even think all the flood is dead yet either since they already made it to earth. But that is just my thoughts right now.

Oh yeah i was playing through Halo 3 campaign while i was on duty and i actually payed attention to the conversation between Master Chief and Cortana during Cortana's rescue and when Cortana was talking about how she picked Master Chief to be her assigned spartan, i starting wondering who were the other choices and what happened to them....

Shadow, you really should read the Halo Novels, there are around 10 i believe and i have read every one to date, but i cant remember much about it- the other spartans were assigned different tasks and some did work alongside the chief, but i shouldnt give to much away so go read the books!

don't know if there's any others but i've read up to first from reach and there so in debt. your going to love them I guarantee IT

its a new game with new stuff, one example so far they have released so far has been the new mode Firefight or Horde mode, and still not gettin it non stop waves, and still need help for some people out there (" I'm talking to you tech :P) look in the dictionary, 2 disks free roaming campaign, all halo 3 maps and the 3 new ones including heretic i think which is drum roll plz (dunnudnnudndnu) Midship :D. New weapons, um and that's it for now defiantly worth buying. Play me off KEYBOARD CAT
