"Searching"

I'm looking everywhere,
high and low
in the sky and underneath my toes
searching for this thing,

I'm looking on mountains,
so far and wide
I'm looking with a lover's eye,
trying to find this little thing,

I'm searching the depths
scanning the blue ocean
wondering where this powerful emotion,
looking for love, that powerful little thing

and here I am,
tired and lost,
thinking that this is the cost
to pay for this little thing

then out of the clouds
rays of lights adorn my face
hope has filled up the empty space
hope that I'll find this little thing

the light is shining,
hope fills my heart once again
and if I find it, maybe then,
I'll be ready to live life again.
