Anyone excited about this coming out this week?! I have it on pre-reserve! I feel like I've been waiting forever for Microsoft to add another RPG to it's gaming catalogue.

I cannot wait for this game! Superb Japanese style N3 and now next friday hopefully a superb Japanese style RPG!! Its too good!

I'm not interested in Saints Row - so I picked this up. I think its a lot of fun so far. If you like FF you'll like this - it is totally made in the FF mode with a pretty good story so far.

I've thought about getting it, but from the videos I've seen the combat looks alot like MegaMan Battle Network, which I hated. Can anyone who has the game let me know how the combat is and if it's bearable?

Its like Final Fantasy turn based just like Knights Of The Old Republic.

^Not like Star Wars: KoToR. Actually not even in the same ballpark as KoToR. Final Fantasy, yes, but it's system revolves around the use of "Golems" in combat. Think of it like Pokemon.

KoToR used a different combat system (d20) and was more real time given no random battles.

This game is awesome! Anyone who likes j-RPG style games should pick it up. The story so far is great (nothing mind blowing.. but certainly not crappy.. its what you would expect from a game of this type) and the characters are great.

The voice acting in Japanese is phenominal.. I havn't checked out the voice work in english as I prefer the Japanese. The music is the best I've heard in a game of this type.. ever. Graphics are great.. and the battle system is unique and interesting.

The dialogue between characters is great. So far I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is even slightly curious and knows they would enjoy a j-rpg.

yep, the japanese is really great.. the voice acting (in japanese) is probably up there in the top 5 I've ever seen in a game.. ever.

I tried picking it up at Blockbuster today to try it out...all three of them. Seems like this game is pretty popular because I had to come home empty handed.

Emm on one hand am being informed this game is worth purchasing and its pretty good, then looking at the character modelling and visuals in general its offputting as is the fact that a very good friend of mine in Canada advises that its worth a rental...

However I think I will purchase this game and if its not that great I can always take it back and exchange it for Saints Row I guess.

Rental vs. buy is going to vary depending on the games you like. Pure and simple - this is a FF clone. Even the won the battle music reminds me of FF.

This game doesn't do anything new, or innovate or ground breaking for the genere. That said - what it does do - it does extremely well - which is provide a FF type RPG.

The graphics are great, story is decent for these types of games - and seems to include a few jabs at the genere and how seriously some games take themselves. The combat system is fun and tactical. It makes you think about the order and how you move people to get the best damage. Most imporantantly gameplay is fun - I've enjoyed it and am about 85% of the way through it (you save games give you this number)

Yeah - I think it does, assuming you do a little exploring for chests and capturing golems.

Can I just say that so far this game is absolutly FANTASTIC!!! Far better than FF imo, the graphics in HD are fantastic also! Plenty of textures and lighting effects!!

yay! hehe, i love FF and i was totally looking at this one to get. so maybe ill sneak a buy even though i shouldnt :) thanks for the links and the heads up. ive been seeing ads but i didnt really know much about the game ^_^

I bought Saints Row at the same time as Enchanted Arms and last night I promised myself that I would quit playing EA upto a certain time and play some SR, I kept telling myself that all the way upto the time I had to go to bed! HAHAHA!!

EA is soo addictive :p the CGI cutscenes are a true marvel, I dont know but I hope there is an option somewhere to view them!
