"Pathetically Lost"

I'm awake in this world
and dead to it all the same,
absorbed in the words
to help me do what the blind cannot claim

I see my thoughts,
and I know the line to describe it,
but my foolishness shows itself then
and the thoughts are too rapid to transcribe it

Love is something I've never experienced,
I just wanted to put that out there
but all is fair in love and war,
and now I'm torn, and wondering if I should give up,

I'm pathetically lost in this world,
not knowing what's right and what's wrong,
the long days end up telling me how wrong I've been,
it seems without love I don't know the liness I've crossed,

but the only glimmer of light that's a beacon to my hope
is the people around me to let me see where I've lost the way,
at the end of the day when the sunset falls
love and peace calls my name, both my greatest desires,

maybe I can finally put the past behind me
and let people know the person inside me.
