OMG!!! I just downloaded the new demo and thought emmm ok its pretty nice looking...then I saw the GREEN yes GREEN Ferrari F430 and I was like wtf?!
Then I thought ok hopefully the cars actually turn now and have handling....
.....
NO they dont!! I am in a furious raging fit right now the Ferrari does NOT have ANY handling it just does NOT turn!!
I have played PGR and have played Forza and both have far far better handling and physics than this pile of junk!!
I am in tears and rage I was soo looking forward to this game and I have been let down.

(snip)When you start off your post in such a foolish way, I can guarantee you that most people won't care to read the rest. I haven't tried the new demo yet though, as I'm grabbing the thing now.

everyone has different opinions on a game. you can't tell us not to get it, cause im sure there are plenty of people who will like the game.
remember, you hate dead rising, and pretty much everyone in this community who has played it loves it.

The Ferrari doesn't really matter to me, but I do have to agree about the handling. I played the demo when it was put up during E3 and I thought they handled really poorly. Granted I prefer arcade racers, but I still thought they were harder to drive than even the cars in PGR3. The idea of a MMOR game though is interesting, so I'll still keep an eye on it.

Agreed. I'll be picking it up in the next week (maybe). :)
As for TDU, it's a fine game. It's just a video game, don't expect a real-world sim.
The "Shelby", I believe, is my favorite car though.

It's better to explain why a game is a disappointment and just what expectations it fell short on.
That goes for a lot of posts here, especially thread starters.

Well if you compare the game say to an Arcade/sim mix like PGR3 or a Sim like Forza or even a true Arcade racing game like say Need For Speed the handling in TDU is dreadul the cars just do not turn at all! No matter what speed you go they dont turn.
This is by far the worst racing game I have ever played in my life to date and trust Atari to yet again deliver an awful game...they never learn  Althout I cannot blame them since it was a French Developer

Well if it's that bad you should be pleased that you're not blowing even the $39.99
the game costs! As for handling when i got the car up to top speed it really didn't want to turn well but i kept playing the demo and eventuially was better at turning at top speed.
I'll have to go back and try gotham 3/fortza and then this demo but to me it's decent,
not expecting a halo caliber racer @ 39.99.....now fortza 2 will be $59.99 and much more of a sim-this is just about driving around with other players and having fun.
Conpared to burnout or need for speed how's the demo/game fare?

I have been informed that you can turn driving assist off and increase the sensitivity which then makes the cars handle a lot better...i will try as soon as i emmm have a tv to try it on :o

I kind of agree that TDU isn't a very good game, but I rarely like racing games anyway so I wouldn't have thought highly of it from day one. The free roaming aspect was a good idea and will let the game shed the usual select-from-menu gaming and let you scream around the map for no reason or just go exploring.
And as the ancient forum wisdom tells: not everyone will agree, but they will argue anyway.

I increased the sensitivy and ok the car actually turned however still the game is extreme arcade not soo extreme as Outrun but its nearly close...To be honest I found this game to be boring...
I might get it if I can get it for like £20 but not a penny more.
But yeah not everyone will agree and I really need to take a deep breath and think on how to phrase my topic for start in future.

I think the driving part was ok. One reason I was looking forward to the game was the ability to drive around Oahu - however having lived there - I'm lik eWTF - this is just generic land with some palm trees - looks more like Florida with hills or something than Hawaii -
Anyway, without that hook forget it.

My biggest issue with Test Drive Unlimited is probably the very awkward handling of the vehicles - they simply don't respond as they should.
I don't think being able to customize your crib and your characters will be that big of a deal - PGR3 will probably give you a better online experience.
Out of the racing games that's released for the 360, the PGR3 reigns supreme - unless you really, really, really prefer the pure arcade-feel when it comes to racers.

Haha you guys are paying $40 only for this game? Well it retails for £50 here which is like $94! But online its £40 which is like around $75!

If you prefer pure arcade racing, wait for the next outrun.
