So I just started a job at walmart stocking shelfs and theres this guy everyone calls angry Tim. I heard he was just released from jail for assault on a police officer. Anyways being that I didnt know him and I had to work with him I started talking to him. We got along fine and all (except for him swearing at me if I placed an item in the wrong place) so somone was messing around with him about his name and im like hes not angry his just misunderstood, and he like yells at me you better watch what comes out of your ******* mouth or ill gut you and youll end up in a ditch. So im just blown away and kinda thought he was kidding when I asked if he was he yelled at me to get the **** away. So I did anyways later I did some shopping and he was following me. So if im not on for awhile im probrobly dead.... lol

when I worked at Sears a LONG time ago.. the security guard there was about 6'7" (I'm 5'11") he hated me.. thought I was telling people he was gay.. we were both after the same girl.. so one night he was off duty and came in.. it was slow and I was just knelling on the chair.. I knew he wasn't coming to say hi.. I stayed right there and he came over and tried to punch me.. I ducked it and started laughing.. a bunch of other people saw it and we got pulled into the security office.. my point is.. I needed my job.. he didn't.. obviously.. he got canned and I stayed there til I found a career.. and I got the girl ;-) just because someone is an ex-con doesn't mean he's trouble.. this guy was security.. the guy in your story might be intimated by YOUR size.. and trying to punk you around.. let him lose HIS job.. don't make him lose it.

not trying to scare you bro but just watch your back. nowadays you cant be too careful there are alot of really screwed up ppl that just dont give a ****. it kinda sounds like he is trying to punk you out for being the new guy. imo one side of me says if the verbal abuse continues i would definately bring it to management but the other side says take his head off. im not a non-confrontational person and i can be pretty hot-headed which is probably why ive gotten into alot of trouble lol. if it comes down to a physical confrontation and he swings first, stand your ground and handle business imo....

Many years ago, I worked with a guy who sounds a lot like that. Also recently out of prison, eight years for beating a guy senseless. He was about as hard a man as anyone I've ever met. He came from Baldwin Village, an area of South Central Los Angeles that is so renowned for crime and violence, the residents refer to it as "The Jungle," and he lived in a neighborhood that I'd avoid driving through in broad daylight.

Thankfully, we got along great, but there were several times I had to ease him away from starting a fight with someone else. Just a lot of anger in the guy, but he needed it to survive his time in stir. It was either fight or get run over.

Wow that's not on at all, you shouldn't have to work under those conditions. I'd personally speak to your manager or union rep if you are in a union. You shouldn't be expected to put up with that while at work, and your workplace has a duty to protect your health and safety while you are there.
