just bought the game a week or so myself... but i love the game....
went through with my husband on his tag and unlocked everything.... now i need to work on my tags... but yeah
yeah there isn't much in the way of battle strategy... but the graphics are amazing and the story is pretty good.... not to mention being able to mow down over 1500 goblins and such in less then 15 minutes is a great venting tool...
just wondering what other people thought

I have it. While I don't think it is amazing, I do like it.
I agree about the graphics for the most part, and it is indeed fun to mow down all of those goblins like you can in the game. I have only played with Innphy so far, but her story seems to be getting interesting near the end. I am anxious to see how all of the characters' stories tie together.
My only complaints right now are the lack of in-mission saves or checkpoints and the voice acting. The voice acting isn't a big deal to me though. I can see the game getting repetitive, but I haven't had that happen yet.

I am in the UK and this game comes out tomorrow! WOOT! I am SOOOO hyped up about this game! I cannot wait!
I keep playing the demo and yes the visuals are superb especially in HD :D
However the draw distance is very bad and overall the visuals on the environments are not that great either, there is no lip sync on the characters in the CGI movies which spoils the feel though.
However given this is a fantastic hack and slash with loads of combos, special moves, weapons to get, upgrades, and items to obtain its an awesome experience!
I look forward to finally holding this game in my hands and drooling over Inphyy :D

I had it pre-ordered but didnt pick it up after reading some reviews and finding my time schedule to be fairly tight.
So you guys really enjoyed it? I'm still on the fence as to if I should go pick it up when I go to grab my copy of [-eM-]

I only tried the demo, and it didn't do anything for me. It just seems a tad bit too repetetive.

Driving is repetitive, shooting is repetitive and the worst of all killing hundreds of zombies is repetitive...

You can only make those comparisons on a general level.
Think about it. Driving is never the same experience. Your never going to have an identical lap. You can always attempt to best your time, change your car, change the map, change the weather, change the way you drive, etc.
Shooting is never the same. First of all, there's more to shooting games that just firing a weapon. There's storyline, weapon adjustment, weapon changes, enviroment changes, etc.
Hack and Slash games are the most repetitive games out there. Its why they are nearly extinct. And Dynasty Warriors, which Ninety Nine Nights is compared to, is completely 100% hack and slash. The genre is known for being repetitive.

it does do a lot of repeating... and all the stories overlap.... you will find different charactors in the same battles with different and the same objectives... imphy's story is great... and it is the main one.... wait till you unlock the "secret mission" of hers after you beet everyone else's story.... that mission compleats her story line... and it is REALLY hard....
hack and slash is bacicly extinct... that is true... but there is nothing like it for venting.... i do love this game.... it isn't the best in the world... but it is still great... and the story line makes up for the repetitive nature....
every person in the game has a different fighting style... and the charge up attacks are great.... plus if you find the game to repetitive try putting on cursed items... it makes the game much harder...
my favorite person is the witchy girl.... Tyurru... she is all distance fighting.... which is a nice change from the charge in and slash in an action game... plus it is harder... she doesn't have a single melee attack.... but at higher levels... the word evisceration comes to mind.... yeessss....
but yeah... seeing as how i am rambling.... i should stop

I loved the demo initially. The huge weapons and the swinging and flailing and even the colors involved in the orb attacks. But I quickly got bored, because the moves were all too repetitive. That's partly because I didn't use button combinations, and just hit random combos when I could. But still, the enemies all were identical, and the landscapes were overly bland.
It'd be a fun game, no doubt. But if you know anything about Dynasty Warriors and that style of game, then you know that your either a fan to begin with, or your not.

Well I am extremely hyped for this game I will cry when I hold this game I just know it! Finally something that the Xbox 360 needs in order for me to be happy! I know this game isnt for everyone as such I hate Dead Rising to me that game is mindless (No pun intended).
However bad news is I dont have a tele :-( I took it back today to Costco as my 32inch HDTV had some little issues and instead was going to get the daddy 37inch version lol but none in stock!! noooooooooo!!! So finally my highly anticipated game but no tele to play it on...just great >_>

i wouldnt get to hyped about it. if you were hyped because of the demo, all the reviews say the actual game is no good compared to the demo. i haven't played it, i would have bought it, but i was afraid of wasting a good 50 bucks.

I know exactly what to expect from this game, but I am still hyped and still geared towards buying it, next game on the list is Enchanted Arms.
360 is heading towards the right direction with these Japanese style games even if they are not great...next is Armored Core 4 and oh boy that looks immense!

I only read parts of the reviews, but if that is indeed the case, that's not true. It's the same as the demo. It's just that you are playing more of the game now, so it may get repetitive for some people that don't like the genre already. I'll probably end up considering it the weakest game of the bunch that I have/will buy from this month (this, Dead Rising, Madden, and Saints Row), but I still think the reviews for N3 from sites such as IGN and Gamespot were a joke. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but 5.6 and 5.9? Come on. I thought Game Informer's main review of the game was one of the most accurate ones out there.

What I dont understand is how on earth Dead Rising gets such a high score and everyone loves it but put down N3 for being repetitive surely Dead Rising is far more repetive than N3 since you are only constantly killing zombies.
Anyways today is the day!!
Inphyy here I come! :D

incorrect though supersaiyan.
ninety nine nights only has one weapon correct? i know you can get a more powerful one and all that, but it stays the same mainly.
but dead rising has hundreds of types of weapons. rolling things, throwing things, slashing things, driving things. it's soooo much more than just a hack and slash which N3 is.
THAT's why it is liked. because it has sooo many weapons to kill zombies with. i'd rather kill a zombie with hedge clippers, than kill a goblin with a staff. sorry, that's me.

I played the demo, and I can see where it would get a bit repetitive after a while. But I still want to check it out. I probably won't buy it, I'll just check it out through Gamefly. :)

Ok I have bought it! The front cover doesnt look as shiny and welcoming as the images on the net but oh well. I also miss the Xbox Live logo on the games though.
Anyways thats as far as I am gonna get with the game because I cannot get my new 37inch HDTV until 5th September :'( its soo unfair!!

Well I am getting Enchanted Arms as well, its funny games in the USA are cheap yet you guys are scared of buying them lol. At least we can wait and see what they are like before purchasing :p N3 is region free so that works on any console.
Anyhow I thinking should I buy a 14inch portable in the mean time...this is sooo embarassing :(

Played it at a friends (full game) - way too repetative for me and doesn't really take much skill. You can basically mash Y move forward and get through the levels I played. The game does look amazing and seems to have a fair story.
It should be noted while I don't like it and found it dull - my friend thinks its all that and loves it. So I guess there is an audience for it - I apparently am not it though.

If I told you the prices of say a 40inch in the UK its well lets say as much as a 50inch lol the prices are bad because of the exchange rate as well as the fact that USA buys in bulk and gets things cheaper.
I am now looking at a 40inch Samsung isnt even 1080p only 720p/1080i and is around £1100 which is like $2000

I played it most of the day it came out but went on a break the day after so it hasn't had too much attention. From what I played it was okay, mashing Y will get you quite a way through most levels but you can have a little more fun if you try different combos. Graphically it is good, and the storyline is acceptable once you remember it is clearly aimed at the Japanese market more than the mainstream.
I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a purchase. Rent it first and if you truly like it then buy it, otherwise keep that receipt handy if you dissapoint easily.

I had one get close to 4000. The only reason it stopped was because I ran out of people to kill in the general area.

game is great, wonderful graphics, fun gameplay. its addicting too
my only gripe is there are no continues/saves except for when the mission is complete or you die and you get a retry.:(
highest combo I got was 3,450. I am still trying to beat that record lol
too bad it does not have vs. battles or co-op off of live. now that would be fun!!

Good luck to all on the Bonus level boss...it drove me insane!!!! You have to be very clever and no rush in thats my advice also make sure you have something that DOUBLES your attack at least or use a sword with 50 attack extra and a charm that does 50% extra attack - Thats my advice and if you pervail it will be worth it.
